@RushDawg They don't actually say you'd be "stranded"... only that the island is deserted.

So it all depends on the specifics of the scenario. Maybe we're just hopping on the island for a break while cruising the islands. In that case "fun" might be just the thing. Then again, maybe we're hungry during that break and there might not be any snacks on the island — grub would be nice. Or maybe we really like the place and want some gear to build some things for future visits...

Decisions, decisions...

I had a great time. A little salty about the last-minute disconnects: Without them I'd easily have gotten to Ruler+3. I loved the tricolor mode (playing for Team Paper), but I'm not sure it's balanced yet: We won most of our matches there, whereas in the first half we lost a bit more than we won. The meta will presumably evolve to get it finely tuned as it is in Splatoon 2 by now.

It was meant to be the last, but they had four more after that during the pandemic (three in 2020 and one in 2021).

@Eddiezus If you have access to the original Switch you can recover your Splatoon 2 state by performing a console-to-console transfer.
