@Coffeemonster i would LOVE a new money puzzle game. The closest thing I can think of is Critter Crunch, which is just as amazing. I don't think Capy games is around anymore though
Have any reviews mentioned the pacing at all? The first one was cool but I felt like it took too long to do anything. My ADHD prefers Dragon Quest and indie RPGs due to getting things along pretty quickly.
@Milton_Burle Monster Train is one of my favorite games from last year (played it on PC). Didn't even realize it made it to Switch. I'm not even a big deck-builder game guy and I couldn't put it down.
@Bydlak Thanks for the response! I like a lot of the cutesy stuff in the Monster Hunter series, and the word "monstie" makes me laugh every friggin time I hear it, so I think I will enjoy it. Sometimes SMT gets too difficult for me too, but it's just too cool to put down. Even the hardest parts are more annoying me because they take too long, rather than a visceral frustration I get with some games.
@Bydlak how would you compare SMT to Monster Hunter Stories? I might want some more JRPG to play after SMT and I'm thinking it might be a fun pallete cleanser. I've heard some people say it's maybe a bit too easy though? What do you think?
Number 1 for me would be Metroid Dread. I was a bit bummed there wasn't much "new" perse in terms of upgrades etc, but it was such a perfectly paced game. And, getting older and having less free time, I am weary of buying games being labeled as difficult in reviews, but I never really had too much trouble with it.
SMT V is the runner up, but man, there were times I wanted to put that game down. I found the map to be not all that useful, and had a really hard time navigating the cities. Then the castle...the stupid castle. Who played that and thought it was fun, interesting, etc? If the game hadn't already hooked me in with the cool/weird world and pokemon-collectemall aspect, I probably would have stopped playing it. Still a solid 8.5 out of 10 from me though and one of the coolest JRPGs in awhile.
@Grandiajet It's a joke, because the title of the game says Impossible. A con is not taking "points" off the score, it's a summary of what is written in the review.
This is the last fighting game I really liked. The changes listed actually make me want to pick it up again--but maybe I'll give it a week or two and check out Discord or something to see if people are actually playing it. Such a good game though--just complex enough with fun characters.
I like Ono and I think he's a great guy, so I feel mean saying this...but I think SF will be better off. SFV evolved into an interesting game, but was a complete mess for awhile and the launch situation was not handled well at all. Ono also has the old-school mentality of big reveals instead of just straight up telling customers what is going to be added to the game and when. I hope he does well wherever he goes next.
I don't get the "it's for kids" argument. There are so many fantastic games for the Switch for kids. Why spend 60 dollars on a poorly reviewed game with a bad demo and almost no significant proof it's any good aside from a handful of people who are really mad about it reviewing poorly? Let's plop down all this money because it might be kinda good? Even people who like it say "it's more of a 6/10 than a 3!"
Super Lucky's Tale, literally any Mario game, Crash Bandicoot (though that one gets too tough for me at times), either Yooka Laylee game, A Hat in Time, Snake Pass, De Blob, Poi....these are all games I enjoyed that are also great for kids. The argument of "it's ok it's an average/below average game because it's for kids" is kinda insulting to kids tbh

@Ryu_Niiyama I loved all the big characters in this game. Ended up maining Darun but loved Jack, Garuda, and Shadow
