Re: Best Of 2022: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

Zilock

Had to replace my Switch lite 3 times in 2 years. Pretty appalling really for a company known for its hardware quality. Honestly it has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'm planning on getting a steam deck next year and calling it quits on Nintendo's next generation

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Are Out This Week, Which Version Are You Getting?

Zilock

Neither. Performance is supposedly REALLY bad even with the update. Pokemon is the highest grossing franchise of all time, yet Gamefreak can't meet the BARE MINIMUM in quality standards even with 3 years of development time. They're either lazy or severely underresourced because TPC wants to make a profit by manipulating the fact Pokemon fans will buy pretty much anything.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Pokémon Scarlet And Violet On Switch

Zilock

I cancelled my preorder after hearing about the bad performance in preview builds and now that its out in the wild it seems even worse. I'm calling it now; this game is going to score in Sonic Frontiers territory (72-73 on metacritic). I'm currently playing through persona 5 and I have a massive backlog of high quality games, so I'm not making room for yet another likely mediocre Pokemon release. I expected better from the studio behind the highest grossing franchise of all time.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Pre-Orders Are Already Breaking Records In Japan

Zilock

Seeing the previews reveal a rocky frame rate and general lagginess made me decide against preordering the game. Visually the game already looks pretty rough so the fact the company behind the highest grossing franchise can't make their game run is a big red flag. If the final build is improved and it scores 83+ on metacritic, I'll buy. The last pokemon game I played was Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire and I've been looking for a game to scratch the same itch as Dragon Quest 11, so I'm hoping it reviews well.

Re: Talking Point: What's The Worst Game That You Still Love For Some Reason?

What on earth is Bioshock Infinite doing here? Colombia is modelled on 19-20th century America, so of course racism is present. If anything the game shows how morally repugnant it is. And to assume making a black person (Daisy Fitzroy) an antagonist is racist is nonsense. I will concede Infinite's story isn't as great as some make it out to be, but the gunplay and stunning environments mean it shouldn't be anywhere near a "Worst Games" list.
