Since you people were all listing your top 3 Zelda titles here is mine:
1. Wind Waker HD/Spirit Tracks 2. Ocarina of Time 3D 3. A Link Between Worlds
Both Wind Waker HD and Ocarina of Time 3D imo had a fantastic story with emotion, great interactions between NPCs and really felt like great adventures in their exploration! Was a huge fan of the Wind Waker instrument in general and how you were able to conduct time with it.
Similarily the Ocarina of Time 3D was very neat and unique, it being the first game allowing the music you play on it to be able to control the environment. For instance Suns Song let you switch between night and day, Song of Storms controlled the rain as a few examples.
Spirit Tracks is an underrated gem imo. It fixes many of the gripes people had with Phantom Hourglass via the repetitive backtracking in the Temple of the Ocean King with the new Tower of Spirits negating that issue so many people were frustrated with. Its story was by far one of my favourites in the series. I still come back to it to this day. I feel like people judge the controls too harshly that they don't even bother to give the game a proper chance. It wasnt perfect to some but to me its an exellent depiction of how a great 2D Zelda should be dungeon, minigames and story wise not including the touchscreen controls as a critisism because ofc that experience varies per user.
