Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey was THE go-to drinking my dad's liquor in the basement with my friend in high school game. The fights were great, and every time the announcer would yell "he's hammered!" my friend and I would either repeat it laughing or say some stupid ***** like "no, WE'RE hammered". The rubber band ai in that game was truly impossible to prevent from scoring though - no matter how thoroughly you're romping the opposing team, at a certain point they WILL score, nothing you can do about it.
I think it's worth calling out just how anamolous Elden Ring's success is - through a combination of marketing and what I believe to be a rabid word of mouth campaign from fans of the soulsborne series (myself included), the game outsold last year's COD.
