This game is massively groundbreaking for its introduction of upgrades and the iconic mechanics retained thanks to heavy irons return which is a big deal since the decline of 3d platformers. An 8.5 would've been so much fairer.
God stop and enough mentioning Simpsons hit n run when there is no reason as of today for anyone to return to it for how massively padded it's is with having to revisiting the same area when playing brand new missions, the map being linear with only 3 maps out of 7 levels, and the game literally having very basic gameplay and driving with no weapons or any abilities to last.
It's not ever phenomenal wanting a gta clone on gamecube or even make one for kids at al or how difficult it is to make on it and simpons going for the cheapest means possible that risks it having a reason last.
It just never better than any other licensed games when some like battle for bikini bottom and spongebob movie should be mentioned more instead for how much it pays more to the decline of 3D platformers for featuring mechanics that should've been influential to other games and newcomers should experience the original game more than the remake to how comfortable it was to play when you get nothing for simpsons hit n run but add more brainrot to even children.
