@TricksterTyler I think it's just the same size, and there are options to have the HUD either "small" or "large". I played with large and didn't have any real issues. Some parts of the menus do seem a bit small in handheld mode, but it's nothing that's going to have you squinting at your screen for minutes at a time.
For what it's worth, the user interface looks very clean on the Switch's screen. Granted, this is partly because it stands out against the blurrier in-game graphics, but still looks very neat and tidy.
And thanks for the kind words! Glad you ended up loving the game as much as I did.
@HobbitGamer I haven't played Ark but I have seen it in action and it looks pretty darn bad. The Witcher 3 definitely looks better based on what I've seen.
@Octane Honestly, it looks nice enough when you've got it in your hands on the Switch's screen. The screenshots really do make it look even blurrier than it actually is.
I say that because it is quite blurry, but not to a point where it looks outright bad.
@Deadlyblack Thanks! And hopefully they can be patched, it'd be nice to see it running even better.
Despite what some of these comments are saying, the review does actually say that The Witcher 3 running on Switch alone is a technical marvel. Can't please everyone I suppose.
@GhostGarrity I reviewed most of the game in handheld mode, and I don't think visibility is a big issue, for the most part. I just wanted to mention it in the review because there were rare times when I struggled to make out what an enemy was doing (in dark areas, I should add). I wouldn't worry too much about it, just know that it can be very muddy at times, but not enough to ruin the game or anything.
As for battery life, it lasted around 2-3 hours for me before needing a charge.
@frabbit it's not terrible but it's not great either. I played with default brightness and the volume at about 50%, and I got the low battery notification after around 2-3 hours depending on how busy I was being in-game.
@Lord "There's a distinct blurriness to The Witcher 3 on Switch, and although it doesn't stop the game's top notch art direction from shining through, it does take the edge off certain environments, and it can even be difficult to pick out distant enemies or read an opponent's actions in battle. This is less noticeable when playing docked, but the trade-off is that on a bigger display, muddy textures and asset pop-in stand out a lot more."
The screenshots make it look worse than it is, though. In motion and on the Switch's screen, it's not too bad.
@gamer89 I reviewed The Witcher 3 for Push Square when it launched and gave it an 10/10. It's safe to say that I'm a fan of The Witcher — I've played through it 6 times and counting.
This has nothing to do with first party Nintendo games, my criticisms are in the review.

Re: Guide: Should I Simulate Witcher 2 Save In Witcher 3 For Nintendo Switch?
@carlos82 I'm back, baby!
Do you mean if you don't simulate a save and get the default options? I believe it makes it so Letho died.

@brunojenso Unfortunately I haven't played Doom on Switch, but I'm guessing yes.
Unless you mean the pixelated original Doom, in which case not quite!

@m8e3point1415 Apparently it's just a "performance" patch. Not sure how much of a difference it makes.
