Engage was a terrible generic story on a MUCH IMPROVED game engine. People do care about the story, and almost everyone I know that got 3 houses didn't get Engage for that reason.
If people blame the strategy vs life sim aspects then they are missing why many people didn't purchase Engage. I also think it spent too much time with characters from previous fire emblem games instead of standing on it's own two feet with the Engage system.
