GameCube games that supported 480p required you to hold a button while the logo loaded in order to enable progressive mode. This doesn't happen on the Wii, and I've always wondered whether the Wii loads a GC game at 480i or 480p.
@jon128 I've created a few toy games, but I make my living writing business-y stuff. I love building things on my own too, as a way to learn. But games today are far more complex than when I started out. I don't blame anyone for using a prebuilt engine. And I suspect those engines are pretty well tuned. It's the game-specific code that I suspect is less well optimized. Fewer eyeballs review that code.
"Typically what we've found is that the Switch is more than capable and what's really necessary is for us to clean up our sloppy work hidden by the power of other platforms."
I love this quote! I've been programming for a long time, and I've watched how the modern age of high-powered gaming consoles has allowed programmers to become complacent. It's nice to see someone acknowledge that, instead of just saying "the Switch isn't powerful enough to run my game."
I have a compact case for my GameCube and accessories. I would often take it to work for after-hours sessions with my friends. It doesn't have a screen, but you find screens everywhere you go. We don't have to categorize it as a "portable console," but it sure did get around.

Re: Here Are Japan's Top Ten Best-Selling Games Of 2020 So Far
@westman98 No kidding! It accounts for 56% of sales on that list, outselling all the other games combined. That's impressive.
Re: Review: L.A. Noire (Switch)
"...the fallout of which...."
Please don't use the word 'Fallout' in a Nintendo Switch review. My heart can't take it.
