If they did this properly, imagine buying a game download code in a shop, scanning/entering it into a mobile app/website on your phone while there, then it auto-downloading at home - and might be ready by the time you get home!

They should've had an upgrade option for the deluxe content as DLC, or to get the full retail download version for a major discount if you already purchased the original title.

@3DSonicPizza All Nintendo published games (or 1st party at least, i forget which...) will be digitally available on the eShop starting with New Super Mario Bros 2 so no worries.

They could even just release sequels to older games, Mario VS Donkey Kong (as mentioned) would be great or Mario Bros. Or new versions of Dr. Mario, Wario's Woods, Pokemon Puzzle League, etc would be pretty sweet. (all with Nintendo Network features such as online play) Or Balloon Fight...actually get on that one NOW Nintendo!

Smaller off shoot titles related to upcoming games would also be a good idea and would be great promotion for them.

What i'd do for a new Wario Land though...

They have so many IPs and options available that they could utilise!

Pity it's pretty crap, at least compared to the other titles.

@mamp Couple of examples of existing game sizes:
Kid Icarus - 1.6GB, Mario Kart 7 - 0.66GB, Ocarina of Time 3D - 0.47GB Super Mario 3D Land - 0.31GB.
At least so far there's not many hitting the higher limits and hopefully shouldn't be too much to worry about

@mamp Huh? you can use up to a 32GB SD Card on the 3DS right now...

@GreenSpleen The SD Card menu was just used as the actual system couldn't run titles straight from an SD Card, you basically selected one from the SD Card + it temporarily copied it over to the Wii's internal memory when you tried running it

There's no need for an SD Card menu on 3DS as it can load items directly from the inserted SD Card.

@Gamesake um. the games will still exist on your console and also be available for re-download. How is that " just expensive game rentals"?

Not "that" interested in these games...but may buy in case i want to play in the future sometime...Warnings for stuff like this is great!

Why are people complaining about a game based purely on it's name? They AREN'T going to just re-release Black/White with a new Pokemon form. They aren't stupid.

On just the 3DSware side of things, You have that third party Samurai game, VVVVVV, Mutant Mudds, and Sakura Samurai! None of which have seen release in Europe yet.

If your internet isn't fast enough or you have no access at all, buy the game in shop.
If you buy the digital version and download it, you'll still be able to play it even if you move to somewhere with no internet.

In europe, 3DS games retail for around 40 euro. A 32GB Class 10 (highest speed) card is less than 30 euro, there's absolutely no excuses for "i can't afford an SD card" especially as this future proofs you. (Especially after spending $200 or euro on the console, at least)

That's way better than Kid Icarus. (which i downloaded, played for two minutes and haven't touched it since)

At least Nintendo should be doing simultaneous releases for it's first party 3DSware titles. >.<

@motang wii u offers support for external USB hard drives. that means you can have 2000GB or 3000GB if you want!

..Are people seriously complaining about running out of space on the included SD Card?
Buy a 32GB card, they're really cheap nowadays. Be sorted for pretty much ever. That'd fit 10+ retail title, and probably all the 3DSware/Virtual Console titles you'd end up purchasing for a long time!

Also full downloads of DS titles would be technically possible.

They could also use this to release niche titles which originally might not make it to certain regions. Would be a cheaper option and less risky than retail, and more chance of people picking them up as a impulse download if they're cheaper than they would be on a retail release.
Already did similar with the Wii's Virtual Console + the Hanabi Festival and all, releasing (old) titles digitallly which weren't released before.
The convience factor would also be a plus. Buy 32GB card. Fit 10+ full retail games, all your 3DSWare/Virtual Console/Demos, and more.

Pretty exciting news anyway.

Mutant Mudds may seem a tad expensive at $10...but why are people wanting a $8 so much more? it's barely nothing of a difference, and will likely be well worth it!

@brandonbwii There's also Block Factory from Enjoy Gaming (makers of pyramids), Samurai: Sword Destiny [UFO Interactive], Dot Eater: New Picdun [Gamebridge], escapeVektor [Nnooo], Hunting King [Arc Systems], AiRace: SPE3D [QubicGames], oh and the 3DS sequel to Thruspace "SpeedThru: Potzol's Puzzle" which has been announced for Europe but not the US.

11 3DSware titles in Q1...that's 12 weeks. Not bad at all.

(oh and 3D Classics: Kid Icarus makes it 12!)

It's completely optional. and it saves the data to your device i believe (encrypted using a password you choose). and you must enter your password to add funds from it.
Get your password wrong 3 times and it deletes all your credit card info.

Weird. mine works perfectly as well. But i only purchased it after the update....Maybe try deleting your save data (if that's an option)?

Question: Could i transfer the purchases from two 3DS's to a single new 3DS? (obviously after waiting some time because of the time limit)
