@stache13 It's not, highlighted in the top comment of the article linked: "This is not a publishing deal for Palworld the video game, or an acquisition by Sony, rather an attempt to make the most of the game’s huge popularity with non-video game products, such as merchandise and music."
Maybe open your eyes?
Snark aside, you could have had a good argument, Nintendo reacting to Sony's involvement is a solid point, but you also came in hot and heavy
I would love to read a decent argument for game mechanics patents, or actual strong evidence that they are necessary? They seem only to provide unnecessary gatekeeping, if not laziness, in every argument I have read so far.
In this case the strongest argument against Palworld is a trademark or copy right issue, but Nintendo doesn't appear to be pursuing those.
@TKundNobody Okay, so define the line that this has crossed, that others have not?
FWIW, I bounced off Palworld, but I really don't see why it needs to be removed from the market place. AND it sounds like you are arguing Trademarks, possibly copyright, but the suit Nintendo is currently fighting is based on patents, thus why I assumed you were talking about patents.
(Why is Nintendo trying to argue gameplay patents?)
@TKundNobody So, let's get this straight, since you don't like the game you think Nintendo should be able to patent elements of gameplay to put it out of existence. If so, that's wildly myopic
Im not the target market for it by itself, but I have seen sooo many comments mention how they wish Nintendo would release a screen less box version of a switch/switch 2 (with is no longer a switch, but then neither was the lite.)
I think they could do this and add value to it by also making it a dock for a system, which if used in tandem with a system could offload processing when a system is docked for features like this, as well as expanded storage and network tasks (like downloading).
I'm starting to agree more and more with the comments that it's a missed opportunity. You could probably sell it for 189 for the dock alone, or pair a controller with it and sell it for 70 more. I really think it is a missed opportunity.
Disclaimer, in my opinion the biggest issue Nintendo has is the pricing of some of their software (and possibly their previous joycon prices)
Also on a separate note, I like your avatar and comments (I'm mostly a lurker, not too active), I have yet to read one yet that I disagree with. (Appreciate your participation in every thread I have read you in)
@-wc- Your disgruntled view is spot on in my opinion, I bought this and played via the steam deck and refunded just before the 2 hr window. This game is beyond frustrating, and it's due to issues with the controls.
I say this as someone who loves hollow Knight, trials fusion and very challenging games in general, but this game feels broken more than challenging in many situations.
There will be many who buy after reading your warning and wish that had taken it seriously.

@Ramouz "It should have been equal to an RTX 4080".
Thanks for the laugh

Re: Mailbox: Switch 2 Price Drops, Remake Replacements, Pokémon Acquisitions - Nintendo Life Letters
@DwaynesGames I bought a used copy of links awakening from GameStop, beat it in two days and returned it

@stache13 Link me to your source showing "Sony buys Palworld".
If they didn't actually buy them, maybe it's you that should open your eyes (or just not go in hot with half true info)

@somnambulance What pokemon like game has made more sales revenue than Palworld?
Re: What's Palworld Dev's Defence Against Nintendo's Lawsuit? Pikmin 3, Apparently
@somnambulance Hunch: Total revenue/sales is probably what offended Nintendo most.

@GrailUK Appreciate the response, hope you're having a good one
Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2
@GrailUK I didn't make anything, just stated a simple fact
Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2
@GrailUK you do know that release videos are edited (contrast, color etc is doctored)
