my favorite reveals for smash... Well, I saw no reveals for 64/Melee.
Brawl's dojo was real important to me though. I stayed up til midnight every night for it. It was Pokemon Trainer that I really popped off for, since I was already a big Bulba/Ivysaur fan and the concept was REALLY cool.
Smash 4, I had been despairing because there was a long string of reveals that I just didn't care much about. Villager was cool I guess, but Mega Man, Wii Fit, Rosalina, Little Mac, Greninja (I picked Chespin in X, didn't use Froakie til I played Y later), Miis, Palutena, Pac-Man? All of these I was like "alright, fair enough I guess, I don't get that hype feeling for this character though."
However, just a couple months before July, I played Fire Emblem Awakening (my first FE game) for the first time. And I absolutely fell /in love/ with the game. I immediately was cheering for Chrom or Robin to join the smash roster. I expected Chrom, but had hoped for Robin since they were more unique and generally a better character. You would NOT believe the sound I stifled myself from screaming that morning in July, because I was in the office at that time when Lucina and Robin were revealed. I wanted to scream VERY loud in triumph and joy. Really, probably my favorite ever reveal for smash bros, even if I'm not naturally good with the character in smash.
Smash 4 DLC... I guess Lucas, since he was my secondary in Brawl. Though I was excited for Corrin too, despite obviously not having played Fates yet.
For Ultimate... Uhh I guess K. Rool. I didn't really think it would happen. Really, my answer is the return of Ivysaur though.
Ultimate DLC, easily Banjo. That mf should've been there from the very beginning and I was so stoked to see Banjo-Kazooie in smash, it was incredibly satisfying. I was also thrilled with Byleth (Because Three Houses is a freaking fantastic game, the best switch exclusive no contest), but there was an undercurrent of stress because I immediately knew that the internet would be a terrible place for weeks afterward.
