What made Zelda, and Nintendo, great was dealing with the limitations of hardware. The 2d and even early 3d games are great examples of innovation in the face of limited capability. Any expensive brick of dollars console can polish a turd until it looks like a AAA title but graphics and edgy shock content are no replacement for original gameplay and novel approaches of how to make the format seem more than it is while working with less.
