The early impressions, quality graphics and great price meant I bought this day one. I felt I wanted to back the game for both the great dev work and also for not going high on price like so many others.
I’ve not played a huge amount of it yet but enough to know it’ll stay on my S2 for the life of the console. It takes some getting used to control wise but it’s also perfect for a couple of races if you’ve got 20 spare minutes.
For me the extra frames, pixels and VRR make up for the lack of OLED.
I also think this is a niche issue that the majority of Switch gamers won’t even be aware of.
Interestingly, Asus addressed this issue directly on the new Xbox Ally, which is also not OLED. They prioritised VRR, battery life and cost of the existing panel, all key things on a handheld and I imagine also things Nintendo had to factor in.
Bought the Spigen along with one of their screen protectors. Very pleased with both. The Switch fits in the case well and feels well protected, it’s got quite a premium look and feel to it.
