I will, however, give you a quick reply before I do. You asked me this: 'As a father, would you encourage your son if he decided to spend so much time obsessing over a single, essentially worthless pursuit? Even if it made him happy, would you not be concerned to see him spending an average of two hours a day, over five years, doing the exact same thing time after time? Or would you not be encouraging him to find other pursuits?'
In answer, I would simply say: it would depend on what else he was doing.
People spend hours on their hobbies, and lead happy, healthy lives. Some don't. To post nasty, personal comments about someone sharing a hobby without knowing anything else about that person's life is, frankly, utterly ridiculous. And spiteful.
It is true, however, that some pursuits are a waste of time. Replying to trolls on the internet is most likely an example of this. I hope that sympathetic readers will excuse me for indulging in it just this one time, to point out what a presumptuous, one-eyed ass you are, when you had already provided more than enough proof of it yourself.
@ChainChompBraden I too have just made an account (and am not planning to post here again), but I had to do this because I'm just pretty disgusted at some of the negative comments around here. Small, petty people. Worms.
I won't say any more about these parasites. Instead, I just wanted to say that I can't wait to show your video to my oldest son. He's 7, loves Mario, and especially loves Mario Maker 2. We play games together sometimes. I'm busy with work at the moment, but I will be seeing him tomorrow.
For every worthless hater here there are probably ten dozen good people that just shake their heads when they read trash like some of these comments. I don't have a twitch account but I'm sure I'll find out when you finally smash your level because it will be all over the gaming sites. When the inevitable hate comes, know that there will be a lot more people, including me and my son, that will be laughing and celebrating your achievement! You will be the undisputed King of Mario!
