Ah, this that is sad. I arrived outside of the loop, sadly. Went through a really amazing discovery process over the last 48hrs or so with finding this game, playing an old janky pirated version on PC, then the delight of finding it on sale in the eShop after I fell in love with it.
The hacked copy I had was beta, so my hopes were high. And everything was amazing. Until the lag of death. As an (actual) solo dev, looking at a project that really hit home for me, I took huge amounts of inspiration from this whole experience.
It's sad, coz I can imagine the whole thing from his point of view pretty easily. I don't doubt the that first Extras unlock comic strip is how he sees the world. It's tough, dealing with one's ego in a critical moment of success like that.
So, still inspired. Just learning from the unintentional lessons as well ❤️🩹
