Oddly, those three mentioned games were the highlights of the year, Mario Odyssey and LoZ simply incredible but The Last Guardian was a flawed masterpiece, taking such chances and, though not nailing them all, was a rare and delightful experience. Mario Odyssey, despite being great, felt like a refinement of what is played before.
