Re: Nintendo President Quizzed By Shareholders On Switch 'Pro' And Classic Mini Consoles

@cleveland124 Some time ago it was mentioned that Nintendo had been losing money ever since the SNES. It isn't to say they were in a bad deficit, just that although each system was profitable (except Wii U) they all had been sold at a loss. Switch is the first time they didn't sell at a loss. The company itself however is 100000% profitable apparently because those shareholders aren't going anywhere! 🤣

@HeadPirate That's 98% right.

Wii U was a decision based on the complaints about the previous Wii motion controls. Devs(mostly western) and some fans decided they wanted traditional controls so Ninty tried to give them what they wanted. Naturally it failed because Nintendo took a chance listening to people who suck in the gaming industry.

Switch was a product that wasn't necessary in terms of needing new hardware for one of their own ideas. It's not much more powerful than the Wii U. And to be as basic as I can it's really a combo of the Wii, Wii U, and their handheld products. They developed it to answer the demand for gaming on the go as not only has their handheld market always been globally strong but more specifically, it's the preferred method of gaming for the Eastern customers, especially in Japan.
