I started playing AC with New Leaf, my daughter was 8 then and we played it together. I loved my village. Until the cartridge got left on the floor of an international flight by accident (my daughter had to sit quietly for 12 hours, she did because she had my 3ds). I have put over 300 hours into New Horizons, I’ve played every day since Southern Hemisphere release. I’m now starting to really put some planning into how I want everything to look. I’ve made a no time travel pact and am so glad I did. I’m In for the very long haul and aiming for a 5 Star island without gaming bell systems. I want to see what comes next when the designers want it to happen. I am liking the events being released as updates. It’s a great way to keep interest levels high. I’m suspecting we will see swimming and diving becoming a feature of the game in the summer quarter of the game. Fingers crossed. I’ve been gaming since I bought the PS1 when it first came out. I’ve played lots of games, but this is the only game other than New Leaf, that I have felt truly engaged and captivated by. Nothing to maim, kill or blow up. It’s a magic game.
@Ogbert ... and the choir says “Amen!”. You are so very right. I have to say that I get a bit confused by folks trying to “win” in AC or power game their little hearts out . It’s not the ethos of the game as you very rightly said and it’s not worth raging about either - unless raging is your bag. I can wait for updates, and like you, I have a couple of crafting stations on my island that I use if I need to, plus a couple of spare tools as a back up. Stress free.
