[Update: Thu 14th Jul, 2022 19:30 BST]
Correction: The Collector's Edition and Physical Edition of Sol Cresta were previously sold in the West through Limited Run Games, and have since sold out. These two new releases allow players to purchase the two versions again through LRG's newly-formed Japanese publishing arm, SuperDeluxe. The article has been edited to reflect this.

PlatinumGames is having quite the week. After finally announcing the release date of Bayonetta 3, they've now announced that their retro-style vertical shmup Sol Cresta will be getting a reprint of the limited-edition Collector's Package and physical game on Switch and PS4.
The physical version was already made available through Limited Run Games, but this new version will be published and sold in Japan by SuperDeluxe, Limited Run's Japanese publishing arm, which is run in collaboration with Tokyo-based publisher and localisation studio 8-4. The game will be available in Japanese and English, with no region lock.
Here's what the Collector's Edition contains alongside a physical copy of the game:
- Collector's Edition box
- Miniature arcade cabinet
- Metal replica of the Yamato
- Postcards
- Pin badge
- Gold and silver sol medal (1 each)
- Acrylic figures
- Two-disc soundtrack CD
- Composer: Yuzo Koshiro
Both the Collector's Edition and Standard Edition are now available to pre-order, with the former being shipped out in February 2023, and the latter on the 3rd November, 2022. Here are the links:

SUPERDELUXE GAMES is a publishing brand for Japan joint-operated by Limited Run Games, and 8-4.

How many more copies of this game do I have to buy until they put the soundtrack on digital
"SuperDeluxe's version of the game is subtitled "Dramatic Edition", although it's not clear what that means."
Dramatic Edition is the name for the bundle of game+story DLC, it's already used for the eShop bundle.
Already ordered a copy through LRG. However, this CE box does look nice. I was hoping SDG wouldn't be publishing games previously made available by LRG, but...here we are.
@Magician
It certainly did occur to me that it would serve as a loophole for their policy of never doing re-runs.
I don’t know about the US, but they don’t ship to the UK. And seeing as Limited Run already had a release of this it’s become redundant news.
I saw the email from SuperDeluxe Games this morning, but thought this was simply a re-release of the collectors edition that LRG made available for preorder earlier this year? Maybe it differs somehow??
SuperDeluxe opened preorders for the standard edition of Sol Cresta Dramatic Edition, too, which also will be offered by some traditional retailers in Japan.
I haven't seen confirmation that SuperDeluxe Games will offer international shipping, but if so, they may be a decent 2nd chance for people who miss LRG's initial preorder windows (certainly better than ebay scalpers).
edit:
Sadly, 1st glance at SDG's shopping cart indicates that they only offer shipping to domestic Japanese addresses.
Nah I'm good with the digital version.
@RupeeClock oh heck, I missed that! That's cool!
It's somewhat unfortunate that the C in Cresta looks like a P.
@Royalblues it's a great SHMUP with solid gameplay and fantastic music, only real negative are the graphics, but they're not godawful. Would definitely recommend buying, just not on Switch.
@Magician It's such a scam! This whole manufactured FOMO BS is just that. Now it's about to get even worse by having LRG expand and solidify another FOMO option for Japanese release, skyrocketing prices and restricting supply.
Ugh... 😭 Worst gaming news of the week by far.
@WhiteUmbrella People have been making that mistakes since the days of the game this game was inspired by, Terra Cresta.
