Grab your fate by the hands! Bandai Namco's upcoming JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R, a remaster of the PlayStation 3 beat 'em up based on the hugely popular anime and manga series of the same name, will be punching its way onto Switch on 2nd September!
The game will feature all of the fighters that were available in the original PS3 version, complete with all of the over-the-top style and poses the show is known for. Even if you've never watched the show or read the manga before — like this writer here — you've surely seen some of the ridiculous and iconic moments going around online.
The game will launch with a Standard, Digital Deluxe (which comes with the Season Pass and grants early access to four new additional characters, bonus costumes, and special colour sets), and a bumper collector's edition which comes with all of this:
- The Game: A physical copy of the game
- Figurine: Serie Grandista Jolyne Cujoh - Special colour (26cm)
- Prison Plate: A prison plate representing the convict number of Jolyne Cujoh incarcerated at the Green Dolphin Street Prison.
- Deluxe Edition Bonus: The animation Special Event Color Set (5 types), an exclusive coloring set from the animation special event.
- Season Pass: 4 characters will be included in this Season Pass, the owners will be granted with an early access on those characters.
- Season Pass Bonus : An exclusive costumes for the 2 of the most iconic characters.
- Collector Box: An exclusive collector box representing Jolyne and the other JOJO heroes.
The full game will come with 50 playable characters from all of JoJo's arcs, a variety of game modes, and new voice recordings from Part 6 of the anime, along with a ton more. You can check out all of the details over on Bandai Namco's store page.

OH
MY
GOOOOOOD
Game looks good. JoJo is a great blend of action and comedy with Parts 2 and 4 being my personal favorites. I highly encourage people to check the series out.
This game getting a physical retail release for Switch is a dream come true for me. I just need it to be a good port.
Ha ha. Quite like the anime and this looks really good. Yeah, I'm up for it
Why is pretty much every anime game just a generic beat em up?
Heads up for NA fans the NA version does NOT come with the battle pass nor the name plate. If you want the season pass and the collector's edition you'll have to make two purchases, well over $100.
@Mattock1987 It's more of a fighting game. I wouldn't classify this as a beat'em up.
@Rafie Some Europeans refer to 2D fighting games as beat'em ups. Also, what Muricans call beat'em ups, they refer to as "brawlers". Nothing says "fun" like language barriers. Na mean?
ASB vet here, make sure ya turn voices down a few notches in settings before jumping in. They are gonna talk a LOT over each other like a Sonic Adventure 2 cutscene
Next you're about to say "Yes I shall give you my money!"
Yes I shall give you my money! HOW DID YOU KNOW!
Well I can always use a new fighting game.
Oh we eating good tonight huh.Very tempted on the Jolyne figure, but I will be at least picking up the game.
That's one heck of a collectors edition...!
Hopefully they will tighten up the actual gameplay along with the new rosta.
I found the original to be a bit floaty and a bit loose on execution (probably to appeal to the more casual Jo Jo Fans)
But being a Jo Jo fan I already preorder the Asian version......time to cancel so I can order the UK one.
OH MY GOD (that season pass!)
Too much Jolyne for my taste -_- But still, I'm glad there's a physical release.
Next JJBA:ASBR article update NintendoLife will say “And here’s our affiliate links so you can preorder the game.”
NintendoLife: And here’s our affiliate links so you can preorder the game…Hey, waitaminute!
really what i want is new stages, the balance per part felt super out of wack
game looks damn good. will have to say no - i've grown quite fatigued from almost constant dodging to keep my heterosexuality. ::retreats into closet to die::
I really enjoyed the Joseph section of the anime. Currently watching the Jotaro part, it's still good, but nowhere near as funny.
...Another anime fighting game, alright...
@Magician I'm from the UK, I think the terms were more interchangeable in the 90's. Nowadays most people I know would call a game like Streets of Rage or River City Ransom a Beat'em up. Street Fighter or Guilty Gear a Fighting game or 2D fighter.
I still have that Capcom JoJo game on dreamcast. The move where Dio drops a literal steam roller on his opponent is still one of the greatest things ever in a fighting game.
@OldManHermit Sad the HD release got delisted because of licensing, would've loved to try it (at least emulators exist ^_^)
The amount of anime fighting games is off the roof lately!
I’M SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! I just finished part 5 not too long ago and I’ve watched the first two episodes of part 6 so I can’t wait!
…Oh crap, I forgot that JJBA fans aren’t supposed to make original comments. I should probably include some overused reference in this… uh… YES! YES! YES! YES! or something
LMAO IM SORRY BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE COVER ART OF THE GAME??? Pride flag colors… there’s no room for doubt anymore JJBA is inherently gay
