It appears Switch fans of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will have to wait a little bit longer for the free 'Card Warriors' game update.

While it was scheduled to arrive on Nintendo's hybrid platform before the end of this year, Bandai Namco has postponed its release until 2022. In an update on the Dragon Ball video game Twitter account earlier this month, Bandai Namco said its rollout had been delayed due to development schedule adjustments.

Here's the message in full:

[Card Warriors for DBZK Nintendo Switch version] The free update "Card Warriors" for "DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT + A New Power Awakens Set" for Nintendo Switch, scheduled this Autumn will be postponed due to an adjustment of the development schedule.

We apologize for the inconvenience to those who have been waiting for the release of Card Warriors. The team is currently working diligently on the development, and we thank you for your patience. Please wait for additional information regarding the specific date.

We thank you for your continued support for DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT.

As noted, additional information regarding a specific release date for the card expansion will be released in the near future. For now, here's a look at what you can expect from this update when it does eventually arrive on Switch:

If you haven't given this game a go yet, there's a demo available to download from the Nintendo Switch eShop. Will you be checking this free update out when it is released? Leave a comment down below.
