Today's Animal Crossing Direct has served up quite a few interesting updates, including the key addition that was confirmed back in September. The Roost and Brewster are opening up in the Museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, arriving on 5th November.
The Roost looked suitably charming, but in the Direct it only showcased the option to go along and enjoy a nice coffee, without the option to work for Brewster (we'll see whether these details are confirmed later). Other residents from the island will come along, and you can use the series' amiibo cards to invite other characters for a coffee. It's also a multiplayer option, so other players can come to your island and enjoy a coffee with you.
It looks hugely charming, of course - let us know if you're looking forward to The Roost opening on your island.

Is it weird that this is the feature that might finally convince me to buy this game? I visited The Roost every time I booted up the DS game. They just nailed that sense of atmosphere.
Amazingly, Brewster returning was arguably one of the less significant additions.
I was expecting to be let down by that direct presentation, but it was actually superb. It looks like it brings ACNH up to and beyond the level of ACNL and fixes a ton of problems for free, and has an amazing Happy Home Designer style add-on.
Observations from the Direct:
1) Kapp'n!
2) Gardening and cooking!
3) Brewster!
4) Finally an actual reason to go to Harv's Island.
5) Other than the extra storage, where are most of us going to put all of these new items??? Bigger home islands was the only thing missing from these announcements.
6) The Home Designer DLC actually looks worth the price.
7) Switch Online $49.99??? DOUBLE the asking price to add N64 and Sega Genesis games. Seriously Nintendo, a great Direct doesn't let you get by with that level of avarice.
funny how the guy i was most excited for is potentially the most useless lol

Oh that's true, the lack of store expansion is a disappointment.
There may be a lack of island mini-games like on ACNL too, something else I was hoping for.
Aside from that, this does look like a really robust update that fixes a number of issues.
Making the special visitors into fixtures on Harv's island fixes a massive problem by itself, giving the more important visitors more chances to visit your island.
It's the ACNL style high street that ACNH desperately needed.
i am bit disapoited, we are unable to work part time at the Roost.
I was a little salty that Harv's shop plaza was just trailer homes but maybe we can upgrade them? I wish there was like an additional building for our home island too...
With the new interior walls and pillars, now we just need more space/rooms for furnishings!
If we can remodel residents housing, can we add more rooms to their homes? I feel that would be nice. I thought I saw inside stairs on one of those DLC home designer islands...
Also the Pelicans no where to be seen sadly...
I was sad not to see the Pelicans either. They could have made them special guests. I was a little sad that they didn't add my most wanted addition: more conversations and personality to the villagers. At least with the Roost they might be more conversations.
