South Korean fans who pre-order the upcoming Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl games for Nintendo Switch will receive a shiny version of either Zacian or Zamazenta, it's been announced.
As reported by Serebii, the shiny Pokémon will be distributed via a code given to any players who pre-order either of the two new games or the Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Double Pack. The codes are valid for use with Pokémon Sword and Shield and will be sent to qualifying buyers from 19th November through to 31st December.
Unfortunately, there's no word just yet on any similar distribution for players elsewhere in the world, but we'll make sure to keep an eye out for more news as we near the games' release. Here's hoping this becomes a worldwide thing.
Confirmed pre-order bonuses in the west include goodies like Dialga and Palkia figurines, special pins, and a SteelBook depending on which store you buy from, as well as a Manaphy egg which will be distributed for a limited time upon release.

OMG thought it was a spin off game for a sec.
This is why I'm tired of shiny events. Just let them be non locked. I'm also tired of events periods. Let them come, but add them permanently to the game. It makes going back to play old games sad.
You can toss the entire shiny Pokédex at me, but if the games aren't up to par then I'm not going to bother.
I'm still on the fence about these games. I'll probably get them because gen 4 was still real nice, but if they shoehorn Dynamax bull into this game then I might skip. Not to mention a plethora of other things that might still go wrong.
Yes!! Finally +.+
Now please release other Gen 8 Legendary as shiny!
Tying shinies to a pre-order bonus then shiny locking them in the game is scummy.
@Yosher Dynamax is exclusive to Sword and Shield
@Tulio517 Never say never. They also shoehorned Mega evolution into other games. Plus it's a good tie in for them for co-op play and with pokemon go. I'm not ruling it out.
@HarvestGoddess You don't have to get them if you don't want to. Besides, it's only for Korea.
@Yosher They didn't "shoehorn" Mega Evolution in other games. It was a part of games in Generation 6 because that was the next big thing for the series. I doubt Dynamax is going to be "shoehorned" in either. But even if they did, it wouldn't be "bull".
@mr-duster The next big thing isn't always the next fun thing. These kinds of mechanics are stupid imo and I always hated when they forced them on to the player, whether it's on your or your opponent's side.
@Yosher Whether the next big thing is the next fun thing is a matter of opinion. I personally think they are. I don't think they're "stupid", nor do I think they're ever "forced" onto the player.
@Yosher
I'm with you there; I'd rather they keep the DP remakes as faithful to the originals as possible. This may be one of the last times I invest in Pokemon for a nice nostalgia trip.
You know, unless they announce yet another Gen 1/2 remake.
@Yosher They could have shoehorned zmoves into lets go, but they didn’t cause it did not made since lore wise. Z-moves and dynamax are both tied to a Pokémon.
Unless the Pokémon move region to region it’s impossible lore wise for the mechanics to be in different regions.
@KiraMoonvalley Well hop as a rival sucks, but hop as a character is great. He actually feels down when he is in a losing streak.
@KiraMoonvalley What? No it isn't! And neither is Hop.
It’s a real shame you can’t shiny hunt these two, their shiny forms are spectacular. No matter how I get them I hope it’s soon.
@KiraMoonvalley Well, Sword/Shield were the most fun I've had with a mainline Pokemon game. Does it have its imperfections? Of course it does. But for me, the positives outweigh the negatives. It wasn't "casualized" (not even a word). All of the Pokemon games are rather casual for the genre they're in.
@KiraMoonvalley I'm not one of those diehard BotW fans that will die on the hill that it's the greatest game ever or anything, it's a mid-tier Zelda title, but of all the complaints held against it, "casualization" is not one I see often if at all that I can recall. It's as casual as a run through Ocarina of Time or Link to the Past was, and if nothing else Master Mode certainly was a good deal harder on the player.
Can't speak on FFXV, gave up on it way early on but not for any fault of the game, just busy with life at the time. Skyrim I can't argue against. It is casual, if albeit still fun.
Anyways, on topic, the main takeaway I get from this is they specify the dogs are to be redeemed only in SwSh. There hasn't been any hard confirmation on BDSP's pokedex being restricted just to gens 1-4 like the originals were, it was just the ongoing assumption. Hopeful thinking was Game Freak was going to continue the trend of each prior remake and expand the region's pokedex to cover later gens than their original counterparts, but if nothing else this generation, Game Freak have made it abundantly clear they want to kill that tradition. Oh well.
@KiraMoonvalley Okay, I think that's going too far.
The story was NOT awful, and Hop is NOT "cancer in human form". I mean, come on. He's not perfect, but he's not that bad. Good lord...
Dialogue about Leon doesn't equal every single line of dialogue in the game. And he's referred to as a champion because that's a part of his history.
No. This is NOT a lazy game. You just don't like how it's presented. And that doesn't apply to most games these days either. NOT "lazy cashgrabs". If you don't want to buy video games anymore, you don't have to. Nobody is making or forcing you to buy video games. And they're only "cashgrabs" for people that do want to buy them and play them. And whether or not a game is good or bad is strictly a matter of personal opinion.
@KiraMoonvalley Don't even start with that.
These shiny colors actually make me really love the cover legendaries! I would definitely pay $60 for the legendaries alone.

@Ulysses : $59.95 Shiny Pass* coming Holiday 2021. This ain't your daddy's Mystery Gift!
Yours will cost a few limbs.
*Pokémon Sword Shiny Pass and Pokémon Shield Shiny Pass sold separately.
Shiny pokemon were so much fun when it was all chance and effort. Lately it's just something you pay for.
I can't exactly put my finger on it, but something just feels uncomfortable about the way shiny pokemon, mythic pokemon and rare items are distributed lately.
Maybe it's because there's no fun involved - it's just a purchase.
Edit: It wouldn't feel so slimy if you had a chance of finding them in-game, as it is they're effectively pay-walled content.
@Arcamenel degrading and horible!! I don't like this practice!
It's exploiting hardcore Pokémon fans because they know they will fall for this to cut out the grinding....
