This year marks Castlevania's 35th birthday, and Konami is celebrating the occasion with a lavish 26-disc music collection. The catch? It's exclusive to Japan at present and costs an eye-watering 28,600 Yen ($256 / £190).
Comprised of two volumes that span the aforementioned 26 CDs, the collection launches on the 15th of December and will come in two separate sets: Castlevania Black and Castlevania Red. If you pre-order the collection directly from Konami, you'll get a bonus 14-track CD that features MIDI arrangements of songs from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (you can order the two sets individually from Play-Asia using the links at the bottom of the page.)
That's not all; Konami has also released four official t-shirts on Amazon Japan to mark the release of the collection. These can be seen here, here, here and here.
Last week, Konami released Castlevania Advance Collection on the Switch, a pack which contains Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Castlevania: Dracula X.

with this cheap price i want 2 units.
Yo, I’d want that, but I literally laughed when I heard that price 😭
At first I thought it was a scam because of the price, but you get 26 CDs for 250€ actually... So it's ok. Please fix the headline.
If it was vinyl ok but CDs, hell no. No matter how much I LOVE the Castlevania soundtrack!
@Zuljaras I don't think vinyls would've made sense for chiptune music. For orchestrated or otherwise arranged and performed music, sure, but for music that is digital and was meant to be played with speakers, I don't think vinyls would have had any benefit (except for the collecting aspect, I suppose).
Although, I'm not entirely sure whether this collection has original soundtracks or arrangements.
@Drachma Gah, that's fixed now - apologies!
They left the ps2 games out... some of the best music was on loi
I mean I surely enjoy Castlevania music while I’m playing Castlevania... but are there really people out there who would actually listen to 26 CDs of it like this? Is someone just casually putting this on in the car?
Oh boy…..overpriced music I can listen to online for free…
There is no denying the OST from Castlevania is legendary tier, but I don't have this much money on me for that stuff
When can I buy it on iTunes for $15? I’ll wait….
Wow, they basically gave Lords of Shadow the finger. I think Black is all I need. Really only found the igavania titles all that good. I'll get Black later.
Looks like some of the Igavania's are on black too sigh GBA versions at least.
All you need is the Belmont's Revenge soundtrack. It's the best!
The "Dracula" reference is greatly appreciated. Now, if only the prices weren't sticker-shockingly high ...
@damo That game mentioned as the bonus item isn't Dracula X, it's Symphony of the Night. (the two games have X in their title, but have different subtitles)
@KingMike Ah, will fix that too! Thanks!
@Gofixmeaplate especially the titular track “Lament of Innocence”. That’s my favorite track of the whole game.
Well, shucks, I haven't owned a CD player since I got rid of my old car 6 years ago. This would have been perfect for my 34 hour road trip.
Not going to lie. If this made it way to Europe I would be very tempted to pick it up.
Interesting there is a T-shirt available only in Japan that says "Castlevania." I didn't know they ever used that title over there?
It’s not the craziest price considering the amount of content. I paid about AU$93 (plus shipping) for the 8-disc Fire Emblem If/Fates soundtrack, and boy was it worth every penny.
@KoopaTheGamer : With the overwhelming majority of recorded music being mastered digitally, it makes no sense to produce vinyls regardless. Even reprints of classic albums are generally duplicated from a digital source rather than the original analog elements.
Considering I bought Zelda soundtracks and music from Amazon JPN. This price is far to much for my collecting purpose and far outpriced what I would pay for a pixel game.
@Gofixmeaplate No, they didn't. Both PS2 games are included, they even included the bonus radio drama tracks from Lament.
@Skhala
👀👀👀 oooooh! Thanks!!
Excited now!! Still too expensive though
@KoopaTheGamer Here is the full list

Some of the tracks on these were unreleased and it looks like there isn't the ending from Castlevania SOTN there.
@Gofixmeaplate They never left the PS2 games out, its on disc 3, 4 & 8.
