This game is like crack. Am I inebriated? Yes! Should you care? No. Should you play this game. Hells yea!!!
Not huge on the whole ongoing update thing when it comes to story-focused JRPGs as I tend to play them through to the end once I start then never go back to them again. Monster Hunter Stories 2 was pretty fun but I reached the credits last night and can't really be bothered with post-game stuff so time for me to move on I think.
*?. You’re welcome
Nice, I've been waiting for this!
Not the update the game really needs, looking at the reviews.
@Draxa You should do reviews on all the games from now on, just like this! 👍🤣 Love this comment!
This is great! Having a lot of fun with this game. Being an egg thief never felt so...fresh😎🥚🌟
@Franklin What update does it need? Having put over 30 hours into it i can say the framerate issues are overblown, sure its not great but its not awful either its just passible.
Is anyone else getting annoyed of the game telling you are disconnected from Internet when you resume playing from sleep mode? I have no desire to play multiplayer and there is no option to turn that off.
@WallyWest
Frame rate issues usually are overblown. For example age of calamity
So it's not a free monstie-did anyone get palamute?
@ReWane Is anyone else getting annoyed of the game telling you are disconnected from Internet when you resume playing from sleep mode?
I am having the same issue your having as well but since the last update. I haven't seen it yet....
@BenAV how long it took you? I am nearly 40h in and just started the 5th area (but I have been doing almost all sidequests so far)
@BenAV Morning Ben. Out of curiosity, may I ask how long you played to roll the credits? 🤔
@Balta666 Haha same question at the same time.
Great minds think alike 😂
@Franklin I mean, the framerate issues aren't that bad. Gameplay's pretty addicting as well. If anything, there's games that actively run worse than this one on switch, with games like Yokai Watch 4 and Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity being prime examples.
@SwitchForce I mean, it technically is a free monstie, given that you don't need to buy it. Nintendo is the one who imposed the online paywall, which most people would probably already have, assuming they don't just play single player games on switch.
@VoidofLight
Seems enough of an issue for many outlets to give it a lower score than the original.
As barely anyone played the 3DS game, seems strange to me that they didn't port it to Switch, rather than make a sequel that doesn't run as well.
Something I realized here...I was in the middle of something in my game...it CONSTANTLY reminded me that this update is required. I really wished when I say later, I mean it. -.-
@Balta666 @LocalPenguin About 35 hours. Was taking my time early but I breezed through the second half of the game with mostly just one monster and no grinding as it was a tad easy.
@BenAV Cheers for that.
I'm experiencing a similar thing. I played the demo to death. Made everything, maxed everything etc. I had planned to continue that way of playing for the whole game but I now find myself just cracking on with the story 😊
@BenAV How did you reach the credits already? 😱 I’ve already played for like 45 hours and am not even done with the third village yet!
@Jooles_95 Took my time early but the rest of the game was over in a flash after I got a Brute Tigrex, haha. Just had it as my lead so I could dash around the maps and taught it moves of every type so I could solo battles with it. Think I was probably a little underleveled towards the end as some of the bosses could one-shot me if I let them get a hit in but managed around that okay.
@BenAV Hats off for the strategy! I’m meandering a lot more, doing all sidequests and getting eggs for all available monsters in one area before moving on, so that would explain why I’m still so far behind even though I’ve played longer than you have! 😂
I can't stop playing this game. It's so good!
I've got my Switch Lite with me at work today- I'm ready to go!
@DomGC how far along or which quest is that?
I've been playing slow so I'm only at like 3* quests even though I've played a lot. Guess I'm going to have to put some more time in!
@Franklin outlets make a bug deal out of nothing all the time. The lag seriously isn’t that bad. Also, the reason they didn’t port the original is because the new game is better than the old one, with more tutorials to ease new players into the game.They also refined the combat quite a bit as well, and some other systems that previously were confusing in the original.
Basically it’s a case of the new game being better than the original.
why does the game still run around 21fps for me in starting town/hub?
i have yet to get into the game because the performance is so bad
@VoidofLight
Sounds great. The original is one of my favourite games.
And now I think about it, I wasn't too bothered by the issues with Age of Calamity.
@DomGC * it is free. You can get Palamutes of all elements from a new quest they added.*
Which quest is that?
@DomGC Oh ok I'll try that then but solo when it says co-op?
@SwitchForce to do the co op segments solo, go to local play and then start the mission from the menu without a partner and you will be joined by the CPU. Be warned, the Palamute eggs are not common, you may have to wait until post game to get more Palamute tickets, so I'd suggest saving the game before doing the den so you don't waste your tickets. In the post game there are extra elemental versions of Palamute to hatch in another co op den that unlocks.
@christofilth That's what I'll do this is my 3rd restart of the game after figuring out the mechanics. And this time I am doing better fighting and getting better medal and honors. And figure how to get Rainbow eggs.
@christofilth how far along on the game are you?
@SwitchForce I've actually finished the main game now, playing the post game at the moment. The game is actually quite big, I've just not had very much to do this last week or so...
oh...how you do that fast.............
I've put 30 hours into this game and I'm only just now at 4* quests so I can't even get the palamutes yet. I waste so much time hunting for eggs and transferring genes, even though I'll likely not even use those Monsters later on
