The Summer Game Fest is this week, and the world premieres are starting to ramp up already. But one of the exclusives that host Geoff Keighley has planned isn't even a game β it's a new song by Weezer. It might seem like an odd marriage, but just last year Weezer released a video game as an album promo, and the year before, made a Weezer-themed island (in the sun) in Fortnite.
As Keighley's guest stars, Weezer will be performing the world premiere of their new song at the Summer Game Fest, presumably to make enough big Gs that they can afford that house in Beverly Hills that they've been lusting after.
The most exciting thing here is that Weezer are now part of the Keighleyverse. With Geoff's face in both Among Us and Death Stranding, that means that Weezer could potentially be friends with the impostor beans, or Sam Porter-Bridges' weird goopy baby. And isn't that what video games are really about?

What did Justin Timberlake say when the lead singer of Weezer asked him to name a major peninsula on the northern coast of the Black Sea?...Crimea, Rivers.
People are probably gonna be pissed about this but I love Weezer so more content for me
Never cared for em buuuuuut respect for anyone who does.
Geoff, please, please, please don't try to turn E3 into another "The Game Awards" type show.
Never heard of 'em. The only Weezer song I'm interested in is the "Folding and Hanging" song by Carl Wheezer.
I wonder how that came to be? Well Weezer is cool and all so it's fine I guess
@Not_Soos They're a 90's band that had a couple of hits and amassed a cult following. Now they're favored by hipsters.
@jump oof
The lead singer is getting so old, that soon he'll need to start parting his hair in a Cuomover
(My apologies)
@Desrever OOF
I have a lot of nostalgic fondness for their first two records, the Blue Album and Pinkerton, however I kinda fell off the wagon with their later stuff. Saw them live at a festival in 2018 so that was pretty cool.
@OldManHermit I stuck around a lot longer than you...considered myself a huge fan up until the White album. They had a few very boring albums in a row starting with that one. But you know what? Their latest one, Van Weezer, kinda rocks! My favorite from them in a long time. Might want to check it out! Itβs totally made me interested in Weezer again. Bring on this premiere!
That blue album is one of my favorites from all times ππ½
What's with these Koo-pas bossin' my world?
Why do they kindnap Peach?
Who gave them airships that they can fly? That made them so hard to beat?
(Ooh ooh) But I'll power up
(Ooh ooh) And I have some lives
(Ooh ooh) And now it's Mario time
(Ooh-wee-ooh) I just saved the Mushroom Kingdom
(Oh oh) with my Yoshi dinosaur
I don't care if she's in this castle anyway
I don't care 'bout that
OK Human was great.
Don't know any of their songs except Buddy Holly. Thought they were just a 90s band.
@HDmumble βββββ
I feel the same way as when Green Day did one of these things. Had great songs back in the day.... really donβt anymore. The fact that Songs From The Black Hole never released is a tragedy, given how great the tracks were that were included in Pinkertonβs deluxe edition.
So I like weezer as I grew up in the 90s and listened to some rock, but are they popular now with kids/teens? I know some bands span generations... but I would not have tagged them as one.
But hey maybe they are like β I don't care what they say about us anyway...I don't care 'bout that!β
Oh we oh.
Would be a Buddy Holly thing to do.
@HDmumble Oh wow, wish I read the comments first. Brava, brava!
Right so skip watching the show and skim through later at my leisure. Gotcha
Weezer churns out music way too fast these days, they just released a new album, and then they just released a new single outside of that album with AJR. They've had a few instances of releasing 2 full length albums in the same year, they're kinda nuts. And these days I do tend to like a lot of what they have to offer. So I'm all for this, but at the same time, holy crap Rivers, you can take a break, ya know?
Weezer did a swell end title version of a Frozen 2 song recently (with a hilariously shot-for-shot video to boot), but them doing stuff for video games is somehow odd?
I enjoyed Weezer until about the time they did that horrible "Beverly Hills" song. After that, while still a decent band, they aren't the "must listen to" band they were for me back in the 90s-mid 2000s.
Got my hash pipe ready!
I like their song "Grapes of Wrath" from earlier this year. Prior to that I only liked "Buddy Holly" from 1994.
Two songs I liked in 27 years from this band (and I've listened to their entire discography), so I won't hold my breath on this song.
=W=eezer!
The Summer Game Fest is bringing my 2 favorite things and rolling them into one! Great time to be alive!
Best tag line ever.
At this point I make ironic memes about Weezer more than I actually listen to them. Someone please help me
@Meehanuk hey, what's with this homie dissing my girl?
