In addition to a number of first-party titles coming to the Switch between now and the end of the year, there are also plenty of third-party offerings. One of them happens to be NEO: The World Ends with You - a sequel to the original 2007/08 DS title.
Ahead the NEO's July 27th release, Nintendo and Square Enix have decided to share the game's opening cinematic.
In case you missed our previous post - this new entry will be available in physical form from the Square Enix store. If you get it from there (before 26th August), you'll score some bonus in-game items including Mutation Badge, Koumokuten Fashion Item and a Twister Neo Mix CD.
If you buy the game from the eShop (also before 26th August), you'll receive the legendary threads set - including headphones, off turtleneck, shorts, sneakers and an audio player.
What do you think of the NEO's opening sequence? Will you be picking this one up on release? Leave a comment down below.

Holy crap, that eastern take on slipknot / mudvayne is insane! I was excited to see it was the same composer returning, but kinda afraid that meant they wouldn't take risks and we might get something stale in a game all about ... exactly not doing that.
Consider my fears alleviated. I remember watching the "Octo" trailer (which was basically a music video for Nasty Majesty) and thinking "I would buy this just for the music". Didn't think it would happen again, but it just did.
Pretty cool intro!
I've been following this game's news loosely, but I think this opening animation is what really made me realize that TWEWY is actually back!
And the time away has really paid off. It's still got the style and charm from the first game (judging by the OP movie). I'd never have imagined they'd be able to translate the bold, sharp, 2D art style so well into 3D.
What was up with that old man pointing at his head?
I quite liked the first one on the Switch, but the prospect of having to listen to that music on loop has put me off picking this up.
Can't wait for this game. So excited!
Ugh! They lost me on the music alone. Whatever this is it ain't for me.
It's SO TWEWY! I can't wait to play the game, even though it's coming out the same day as Great Ace Attorney, and just a few days after Skyward Sword, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Ys IX... Damn July, think of my wallet!
If i am 12 probably would wet my pants.
But im not.
Japan is the only country making the games I want to play. Everything from the art style to the music is exactly what I wanted and expected from a sequel. Hyped.
That was bold. People may not like the art style or music. That is GOOD. Divisive content can be an indication or artistic intent... something too frequently lacking in modern gaming (which frequently seeks the common denominator with the lowest risk possible).
Love the changing music! Some of it is my style even. Looking forward to this game, but I need to get to Final Remix first.
@Muddy_4_Ever Absolutely agree, finally some proper metal bangers.
Looks like this one's character designs are a bit tamer with the body proportions. Not aggressively, but enough to notice.
The game's music doesn't sound bad at all! Really looking forward to this one!
Metal just isn't my jam, so hopefully it will have a wider assortment of tracks... Might have to take a listen to more of the OST before purchasing this time.
Ugh, this looks good
Hope it’s better than Balan Wonderworld
@DiamondJim Even if this game was bad, it would still hands down be better than Balan Wonderworld.
I'm not a fan of the rock? music, but I admit I think for the genre of music they went for they played it out quite well. Still not a fan of the music, but it is good they took some risks and glad to hear it's right for other people. I mostly like the pictures and animation.
