Almost a year ago, Yacht Club Games lifted the lid on its new puzzle game Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon for the Switch.
If you're wondering what's happened to this project, it seems development on the game is now close to completion. According to a tweet over on the official Yacht Club Games Twitter account, the Pocket Dungeon team is looking to "wrap up" the game and requires the assistance of an experienced Game Maker Studio 2 developer.
Last week, Yacht Club also retweeted a callout from Nitrome (the team handling Shovel Knight Dig). This London-based team is seeking a talented Unity developer. It'll be looking through applicant submissions at some point this week.
There's no release date on this second project just yet, either - so keep an eye out for an update in the future.

This is the first time I heard about pocket dungeon.
Judging from the 3 confirmed Shovel Knight games so far and the 30+ cameos across several different types of games...it seems Yaght Club is super open with using Shovel Knight to experiment with several game styles. While I think it works best as a 2D platformer I am confident that they can make it flow well into other styles
@PBandSmelly I see Shovel Knight more like Mario and while it is good for platforming it will probably end up being good in most all other kinds of game genres, this is more thanks to how well they made the treasure trove imo.

Given how Yaght Club definitely knows what they are doing when it comes to design and world building, I'm all for the Mario approach. Initially designed to be a platformer, they find ways to expand the charm through fun locations, wacky characters, and doubling down embracing the change. Just like Toadstool Tour in spirit, you can put Shovel in any place you want, but can only make it work with the subtle nuisances that made the original game so charming outside of the platforming. And I know for a fact that yaght club understands this and will make it amazing
The original Shovel Knight was an instant classic. I had not seen Pocket Dungeon before; I would get that if it is inexpensive. I am very interested in Dig, however. I really want to see a 16-bit Super Shovel Knight and Shovel Knight RPG.
imagine if they made a Shovel Knight game in 3D with N64 or PS1 graphics, I wonder if they could pull that off
Shovel Knight Dig looks great! Just hope they don't dig themselves a hole with it.
@BongoBongo123 Or do you?
Physical and I'm in!
