I'm on Pearl's side, of course. So... mushroom?
I'll be on Super Star. Expecting to see a lot of Star vs Star unfortunately.
Team ⭐
Though I feel like Team 🍄 will win
Would be nice if Splatfests were permanent and part of the stage rotation
I'm team Star since the Mushrooms piss me off in Mario 35 (when you use up precious coins and get one instead of Star or Fire!)
Team Super Star all the way!
I prefer Marina, but I’m going Mushroom on this one.
Anyways, shame they coin giveaway isn’t available in Europe.
Team super mushroom
Team Super Star.
I’m going for the underdog: Team Super Mushroom.
I haven't decided which team yet, but I've been hankering for some Splatoon time so hope to get involved.
Team Super Star, but only to support my girl Marina ❤️⭐️🐙
Team Star! Let's do this!
@Kienda It is.
@BenAV I hate it when that happened a lot in the past. Sometimes just join the less popular team, but I already made my choice. Oh well
Star here because I like the music from it
I just wanna say that the dialogue between Pearl and Marina is wholesome af.
The only reason why I'm going team mushroom is because I am short (lol)
@gcunit good luck!
Team Super Star for me.
Good luck to everyone. Hope someone manages to get a coin.
I went with yellow as maybe red will have a bit higher visibility to pick those little suckers off, 😆
I picked Team Star, since I've always liked stars. Not just the ones that make you invincible, but the Power Stars you collect in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, as well.
Let's rock, Team Mushroom!
I picked team mushroom because I thought the shirt would be red, like the Inkopolis kiosk team selection picture. So disappointed they gave me a white Tshirt.
I'm guessing the splatfest stage, Canon Fire Pearl, is not new? I hadn't seen that one yet.
Team Super Mushroom for me!
I like to put mushrooms in my zesty spaghetti sauce. Fresh only!
Hands down, Team Star all of the way. Don't even have to think about this one. Easy choice.
@--------------ha erm definitely splatoon 2 related right 🤔
Team star for me, nothing like feeling invincible
Anyone else having trouble finding matches?
Been trying to get a match for over 2 hours now. My ISP is pure garbage.
@Kienda @Liam_Doolan
It seems the coin giveaway is happening in Europe too, unless I’m reading this wrong:

Super star for me but it was a tough choice.
Team Super Mushroom. Invincibility wears off too quick, whereas the super mushroom let's go be tall forever, at least until you get hit by a gomba or stub your toe or something.
@Maxz Thanks, I've updated the article to reflect this.
@Obitokamui64 I find I have one match followed by 4-5 timeouts. It’s never been this bad for me before.
Sorry, this mission isn't available in your region
@smeggysmeg
Same here. I gave up after a couple tries
Mushroom for me.
@TheLightSpirit
You're not the only one that's had their interest in Splatoon 2 plummet, as I haven't Splatoon 2 in months. (i.e. I haven't played in a year, in fact, yesterday was the YTD since I played Splatoon 2).
I picked team mushroom cause realistically its a better powerup and because I'll actually get to play opponents and not just my own team over and over again.
Nearly every match I've played has been Star vs Star unfortunately - takes the fun out of it really!
Also, by far and away the biggest sin this game commits is not making the shifty station stages available outside of Splatfests (in terms of them being in the online rotation, I know they're available for LAN multiplayer) - they're usually some of the most fun stages to play on.
@henrysbloggin Totally agree. I’d love to be able to do “The Bunker Games” on a more regular basis.
Aw man...I was kinda hoping that my side would win. Maybe next time.
Good game, Team Mushroom - enjoy your victory.
Congratulations, Team Mushroom! That was a fun Splatfest!
Missed opportunity to make it a Splatfest between (magic) Mushrooms and (ice) Flowers.
My first splatfest, I garnered a cool losing streak well into the double digits I believe.
Great stuff. Thank you super mushroom
Well poop! Naw, congrats Shroomers!
@TheLightSpirit I was on Team Super Star and most of my matches were against my own side too. I'm guessing the servers were struggling a bit.
Damn, I forgot this was the last bonus Splatfest. Back in August Nintendo said there were 2 more bonus Splatfests before the end of March 2021 so that's the Halloween themed one and this Mario themed one.
I can’t believe mushroom won mushrooms suck stars are better all my friends were on star so I don’t know how mushroom won but ok then
But for my first splatfest ever I did really good
I mainly got star vs star but gg mushrooms
I was on team super star GG, But can't go wrong with the classics. Also who els loves the art work.
WOOT! Team mushroom! It was awesome that my son and I got to contribute a couple 100x battles to it as well! 😆
I was Team Super Mushroom, but I don’t think I did well enough for a cool coin. I didn’t play religiously. Did get a few victories though. It was fun. Can’t wait for the Link Vs Ganon Splatfest. Lol
Like all Splatfests, there seems to be the common matchmaking issue of having to face against your own team rather than the competitors.
I don't know whether it's a productive match or simply a forced practice session, but I see it as a flawed system, even though it allows for quicker matchmaking. I believe that one reason why Super Mushrooms won was because Super Stars kept facing each other rather than Super Mushrooms.
Even though I wanted to be on Team Super Star more, I ended up picking Super Mushroom because I knew they'd be the less popular vote and end up not having to fight each other like Super Star did. Had to be strategic with the pick to get the win even if it meant going against what I really wanted.
@NathanTheAsian actually I played against my own team (mushroom) a great many times.
Predictable. This usually happens when one side is overly popular in votes and Super Star was very voted for. I lost way too many matches too, it honestly wasn't a very fun time.
Oh well, congrats mushrooms, guess you're the real stars.
Dam, didn't know you win a coin. Only played a few games.
This continues my consistent streak of picking the losing side at Spatfests.
my wife wouldn't let me get the physical T-shirt off the store =(
I am fairly surprised Mushroom won. My wins/losses this Splatfest were 29/30, including defeats on one 10x and one 100x battle (the only two multiplier battles I played). It felt like there were a lot more experienced players on the Star teams I was seeing than the Mushroom players with whom I was paired.
It was so fun having a new Splatfest. I miss when these were a regular, monthly occurrence.
Well done team mushroom!
I’m not surprised how much more popular team star was though, I was team star and out of 10 or so games I played against team mushroom 3 times.
@Sourcecode
Yet again, that goes to show why the Splatfest matchmaking system is flawed. There aren't enough matches that can be played to contribute to the team; most of the time, it's a stupid same-team battle.
this is hilarious, the votes here matched about the same for the game matches, lol
I like the power of the Super Star better, but the Mushroom lasts me a lot longer, so I'd rather have that.
did anyone else feel their end dialogue either set up for one more splatfest(already believed there'll be one more in March) or possibly something Splatoon 3 related?
