It seems 3DS and Wii U software discounts on My Nintendo are no longer a thing, at least in certain parts of the world.
My Nintendo users located in North America have noticed the removal of this icon from the store - meaning you'll no longer be able to get discounts for games associated with these systems. It appears the same tab has also been removed from the UK website, although some other locations like Australia still have this page live - however, there's only one deal remaining for 3DS.
This means Wii U deals have now been completely removed from My Nintendo. In terms of 3DS, there are still some themes and even games like Flipnote Studio 3D and My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess available.
So Nintendo, now that these Wii U and 3DS discounts are gone, can we get some Switch deals or something else? Please...

Nintendo: "...nah."
Wait we had those?
Good. Bring on some Switch discounts. Even if those are lame, too, they are at least more relevant than those.
We have Switch discounts - 5% off all digital purchases, essentially.
I wish I picked up WarioWare Touched for 3ds when my Nintendo first launched. I didn't get it because I already have the cartridge on DS and I thought it was going to be the first in a long line of games available for platinum points. Alas, not many major games became available this way and while I did get the absolutely brilliant Twilight Princess Picross, I lament not having a digital copy of WarioWare Touched on my 3ds.
Could we plz get some for the switch.
I managed to pick up a few deals in the last year to fill out gaps in my library (Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, Majora's Mask) so it wasn't all bad.
The North American My Nintendo hasn't had any sort of Wii U discount for ages. As for 3DS, the days of those discounts were clearly numbered once I noticed they stopped rotating in new games after October.
My Nintendo is only a shadow of what Club Nintendo was, but the discounts did come in handy once in awhile in my case. The last discount I redeemed was Pushmo back in November, and I've enjoyed my time with the game.
I knew that they were going to make a move soon. I'm just a bit disappointed that my Nintendo is nothing at all to the level that club Nintendo ever was. Personally I enjoyed getting all of those games for fairly cheap price. My Nintendo is merely a shadow.
I noticed it a few days ago and hoped it was a temporary thing.
Too bad, it was the only thing I occasionally used on that web. Virtual Console games with a discount were a good idea.
And that's another impopular measure to add to the list of recent strange decisions by Nintendo, I wonder if all of this has anything to do with the new NOA president Bowser.
A bummer (and an unannounced one again at that?), but not overly surprising after both consoles got discontinued a while ago - only a few big guns still attend the general sales on 3DS, too. Hat off to these for what I have obtained with their help while they lasted - Pocket Card Jockey, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem Echoes, the currently redeemed Super Mario 3D Land... plenty of good stuff.
Not viewing this as a sign of Switch discounts to come, though - they already have a small cashback system plus extra NSO trials, Switch third parties have no shortage of offers as it is, and do you really think dedicated gold point discounts would bring the first party stuff much below the traditional 33%?
@Kungfunaomi never thought I'd live to make parallels between Nintendo and System Shock 2 protagonist, but now after your comment here...😄
Nothing can match Club Nintendo’s assortment of free games and things like the gold nunchuck, CDs and game card cases. It made the Wii U era truly great. I didn’t need anything from MyNintendo when that came to be. I merely humor it. We should however bring back Nintendo Power stamps and trading cards.
Off topic.. But the red Mario zip game case is really nice and I love it. 800 points, totally worth it. 💗
I got Layton vs Phoenix half off. Well worth. I think I bought every 3ds theme they had going. Give us SWITCH THEMES. My bloody Vita has themes. My Vita!
AGAIN! THEEEEEMMMMES FOR SWITCH.
So it's even more worthless now...just get rid of My Nintendo completely, Nintendo. :/
@Joeynator3000 It really is terribly setup, club Nintendo was a lot better.
@jemil1992 This is what I'm starting to wonder, especially as some DSiWare games were recently removed (even if they did get restored). There are still quite a few games I'd like to add to my library before the shop closes down. If and when that moment comes I suspect we'll get a decent amount of warning.
Lame. I know that Nintendo doesn’t have to give us anything for free or discount anything if they don’t want to, but if they’re going to go out of their way to have a program and call it a loyalty rewards program, there should actually be some rewards for people’s loyalty. Literally the only value I get out of it now is gold points on game purchases. Which is nice, but it’s not lighting my world on fire.
Now patiently awaiting Switch discounts
Although I've been waiting 4 years for streaming apps, home menu customisation and internet browser so
I hope we can get some for the Switch.
Everything eventually gets replaced with newer stuff. Nintendo want you to replace your old consoles with a new shinny Switch lite, and why not?
But the new shinny Switch lite will one day be replaced by something new and all your games will be gone.
i remember checking the discounts last week and still not remembering what was available, i will not miss them at all. but now i wonder how mobile-focused mynintendo will continue to be if they still refuse to acknowledge switch rewards
The big question is can they make this platform relevant before the Switch hits 4 years old...
@jemil1992 @mcdreamer
They already announced they were killing the 3ds/Wii U eshop in South America and the Caribbean in July so it has already started.
Pointless rewards program that became obsolete 6 months after launch. Typical Nintendo.
If Super Mario Run and the like started giving out Gold points... hoo boy, my phone would never see the end of it.
@Grot Really???
Nintendo is probably done with it. They can simply offer the sales to everyone instead of charging for it. And physical goods can be used as a NSO selling point.
Only way it would make sense is if it's custom deals. Like, for example, a discount if it's your birthday or offering 50+% off only for those who have the Switch since 2017~2018 and still didn't buy MK8 or BotW.
@redpanda0310 they're talking about gold coins.
Buy digital and you get 5% back in gold coins to spend in the next purchase.
They need to add switch and mario kart tour as there is so much todo on mario kart tour.
The physical rewards from MyNintendo are great, I’ve picked up quite a few of them. The current implementation is much more sustainable through down periods than Club Nintendo’s glut of merchandise. Yeah, it was nice, but we lost a lot of nice things due to the failure of the Wii U. Move on.
Oh here we go again. Yeah, no thanks.
I think I bought a game with a discount from My Nintendo once (Captain Toad / Wii U). My lack of interest is twofold. One, I prefer physical copies. Two, by the time I see a game one My Nintendo, I've long since made the decision if I want it or not. I did download a bunch of 3DS themes from there though.
@RennanNT Ohh yeah makes sense
@jemil1992 I didn't risk it and bought the last e-shop games I wanted on sale. (And those 30 final fantasy theatrhythm songs I've always wanted with the cash I saved xD)
Culdecept revolt and persona q, both for 10 bucks! Etrian odyssey for 5!
@zool but let's all invest in digital!
I think the 3DS died waaaaayyyyy too soon. Even the Vita still has new games being released.
