At the beginning of last month, Gearbox and 2K released a new update for Borderlands 2 on Switch adding multiple new features. It also marked the release of the fifth campaign add-on - Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary - on the eShop.
Not long after the update went live, players began experiencing crashes. While there were supposedly some workarounds, they didn't seem to be working for everyone. Roughly a month on, it seems these reported stability issues have now been resolved.
Owners of Borderlands Legendary Collection or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on Nintendo Switch can claim Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary DLC for free until 3rd December (that's today). How has Borderlands 2 been for yourself since this update went live? Tell us below.

It took them waaaaaay too long to fix such a huge issue but better late than never.

I mean look at Youngblood. They released patch and you don't even know what it does.
I never experienced this issue, but I keep getting killed in the game. Fix this ! : P
Does anyone else experience issues with the gyro controls in Borderlands 2. No matter how much I play with the sensitivity options, they just don’t feel right to me.
The DLC doesn't come up for free on the Australian eshop. Do we miss out?
If your quick you can download it without owning the game.
@ados_mate I downloaded it just fine from the Australian eShop a while back so if it doesn't show up as free now then maybe it's already too late.

@ados_mate Bummer. For future reference you can actually 'purchase' DLC without owning the software so it can be a good idea to just grab free offers like this when they come up even if you won't have the game till later down the track.
@BenAV : I have a habit of doing that for games I have no intention of owning... juuust in case...

I guess "stability issues" is shorthand for "the game immediately crashes if the Commander Lilith DLC is installed". Glad to hear it's fixed.
Thank goodness. I submitted a bug report immediately and have been waiting on this for weeks. There was a workaround in the meantime but you couldnt play the Commander Lilith DLC

I'm betting they did this deliberately and only fixed it after they started charging for it so it would put people off getting it until it was free. Make more money that way. Sneaky. Either that or they genuinely didn't know what the issue was. I think they did it delibaretly. Greedy 2k, just greedy.
@DannyBoi The free DLC is still availble to download (as I'm writing this) for anyone with a North American eShop account (anyone can make one) and the update is already live.
I agree that they took a long time to fix this though. I was planning on getting back into the game when the issue appeared, now I've already moved on to other things. Still grabbed the free DLC all the same though.
I'm so happy that the commander Lilith DLC was ported over I hope this means 3 will come over soon but 2K can I ask a question where is Bioshock 4 is it happening and if it is when will it come out
I love B2, but gearbox is in perfect form, finally releasing CL DLC that crashed the game so I couldn't play ANY of it. Classic.

@SMUGSLOTH69 3's an unstable mess that continually soft-locks, stalls, and crashes-to-power-off on Series X. I think it'll be quite a while before anyone would want to touch that thing on Switch.
It's a well done game from what I've seen, the best Borderlands yet.......if you can keep it running long enough without locking or crashing, that is.....

Can I confirm here it's meant to be version 1.02? I got Lilith yesterday, but can't force update the version past 1.02, so I'm assuming that's correct.
@The_Pixel_King It’s a common issue with an easy fix. Do a full shutdown/reboot of your system and that should fix it. Now and then you may need to reboot again.

@ados_mate I read this yesterday and quickly set up a US account to do likewise. I didn’t know there was a cut off date for downloading it for free. Thanks for the tip 👍🏻
