The Pokémon Company International has launched a brand new website aimed at younger fans to keep them busy over the holiday season.
Called 'Pokémon: Kids Winter Fest', the site offers a variety of free to-play minigames and activities which will test your Pokémon knowledge. You can get stuck in on any device with a web browser, such as your mobile, tablet or computer: Pokémon Kids Winter Fest Website.
The main goal on the site is to earn Razz Berries – collecting enough of these will unlock a badge pouch which can then be used to collect badges. There are more than 890 badges for players to get, and these are added to your team's daily total and contribute towards team races. The first team to cross a race checkpoint will be awarded a special in-game item.
Here are the games and activities you can enjoy:
Battle Dunk
Tapping with their mouse or fingers to aim and release their selected Pokémon, players will need to knock as many enemy Pokémon out of the arena as they can without running out of energy. But be very careful—the other Pokémon are also trying to knock you out of the arena!
Pair Up
In a quickfire matching game, players will have 60 seconds to test their Pokémon knowledge and find the matching cards as quickly as possible for the best score. This game has four levels of difficulty: match all of the same Pokémon together, match each Pokémon with its Evolution, match each Pokémon with a card showing its correct type, or match each Pokémon with a card showing a type that it is weak against!
Relay Ridge
In this obstacle course, players will need to get as far as they can by safely moving Pokémon along the top of the cliff without falling off or hitting too many obstacles. When reaching checkpoints, Pokémon will automatically swap, their health will be restored, and Razz Berries will be rewarded.
Snow Holes
A group of Diglett is causing chaos in the snow fields and threatening to break the ice! Players will need to get rid of them by tapping as quickly as possible. Dugtrio might even make an appearance for a bonus round!
Waterfall Crossing
In this minigame, players will need to help Pokémon cross the river safely, by bouncing them across on their raft using their mouse or fingers. But they must also watch out for Jigglypuff! This Pokémon will make the players’ Pokémon fall asleep, and players will need to spend precious time waking them up!
Winter Fest Scene Creator
This corner of Pokémon: Kids Winter Fest will give Trainers a platform to express their creativity by putting together their very own Winter Fest scene filled with Pokémon. A range of characters, backgrounds and items are available to be added to the picture, creating fun and wintry scenes.
If you have any little ones in your life, or if you fancy having a go yourself – because why not! – then feel free to visit the website and have a play. It'll be up and running from now until 3rd January. Have fun!

I like that the parental verification is a math question like 8 x 13.
Despite this being aimed at kids, you're gonna get a number of twenty and thirty-somethings playing this because of the "in-game item reward", or coverage reasons.
Just like the old days when I got addicted to Flash games, I'm now addicted to Battle Dunk.
By in game item, do they mean for the website?
Pretty nice set up. I expect at least a half dozen comments on here saying "games can't be free, people have to be paid for their work" and/or "if you play this without paying for it you're a pirate" b/c some of the comments on this website are insane and some people have no idea how the world actually works. 🤷♂️
Wow, that's a whole lotta addictive going on in there. Only played 1 game - Relay - which I died almost instantly, gathering only 4 berries in the process - but I think I'll be back, b/c addiction.
will keep the kids entertained on a cold winters day
@JustMe I like how before anyone could even complain in the comments you are here complaining about complainers and spitefully calling names.
Takes me back to those dream world games I endured in order to get hidden abilities.
Free is good.

As someone who might be interested by an 'in-game item', had a look... and they just mean yet another lootbox-like bag of badges for the website. Like you get for playing a minigame.
Team gets...
100k berries -> Poke ball bag
150k / 750k berries -> Great ball bag
250k / 1m berries -> Ultra ball bag
500k / 1.5m / 2m / 3m berries -> Master ball bag
Why bother? Seems like one of the only way to repeatedly get the Master ball bags outside of being lucky with the gacha spins, and legendaries only come from Master ball bags.
Also, what a bad achievement system.
Achievements show as a single bar with three levels, bronze/silver/gold.
You're shown a task to go with the bar, e.g., Play every minigame once - 0/6.
You do so, it counts 1/6, 2/6, 3/6... 6/6.
Then the task changes and shows, e.g., Get 10 Ultra ball bags - 6/10.
You get one, it goes... back to 1/10.
If it's not cumulative, why show 6/10 in the first place?
Edit: Huh. Their method of updating the team scores is... Get the latest score, quickly set the score.
Surely nothing could possibly go wrong with having the client directly set the score on the server.
