Well, here we are at the end of what has been one heck of a year. It's safe to say that we've all faced some mighty challenges this year, and while video games can't exactly fix what's going on in the real world, they can at least offer some much-needed respite.
As we get ready to sign off for a few days, hoping to recharge those batteries for another year, Nintendo and other developers from around the world have been sharing holiday greetings, reminding us that this great little hobby of ours is a wonderful distraction. Hopefully these will help you get into the festive spirit.
Let's kick things off with Nintendo itself:
The official Kirby account always gets in on the Holiday fun – we assume 'always be cute' is the social media top priority:
SteamWorld developer Image & Form got into the Christmas spirit by giving away 5,000 games! Now that's generous.
Not quite a happy holidays message from Sonic and co. here, but we couldn't resist sharing these pinecones.
And now onto some postcards, shared by developers from all over the globe.
From Konami, Psyonix, Sega, and Studio MDHR:
From Happinet, Soedesco, Playtonic, and Natsume:
From 2K, EA Sports, Epic Games, and Harmonix:
From Gameloft, XSEED, Toplitz Productions, Mastiff, and Badland Publishing:
Whatever you're doing this holiday season, we hope you have a wonderful time. Much love to you all.

Some devs actually "want" us to have a safe holiday season. Nintendo can't do it without throwing in a ad for one of their games.
To be fair, EAs card is just last years card with the number hastily scribbled over
OK, someone must've made that joke already...
Huh, I'm surprised EA gave full one for free?!
"Happy Holidays! Now give us your money."
The konami one is the most boring. The sega one is the laziest tho. The others range from okay to great.
In the end it’s about the gesture, and the gesture is nice.
The Go Sega one is really bad. Why even bother with any graphics if that’s all they’ll do?
Merry Christmas folks!
Jan 15 Splatfest. I'll jump on for that.
@Cevil Imagine thinking that companies are trying to pander to the “easily offended” despite you yourself being offended by the existence of other cultures.
Should note that Playtonic are in the UK, where “Merry Christmas” was never appropriated into a backhanded malicious phrase.
@Cevil was about to write exactly that.
Could only see one company wishing Merry Christmas (which this holiday is about).
It's sad that things are heading down this way.
@Noid wish you a Merry Christmas oxox
That fifa ad was zero effort... smh
The Playtonic one is silly.
Merry Christmas to you too Playtonic!
Merry Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas everyone.
@tourjeff as a pagan, we have had our holiday taken over by Christians for 1000's of years, do you see me crying about virtual cards not wishing me a Blessed Yule?
Dont be a douche, stop looking to be offended and enjoy the holidays with your family like you should be doimg regardless of what it's called on a digital card!
Sakuna's haiku reminds me of Arin's and dan's "It's raining on mount fiji". I love it!
@N8tiveT3ch EA was a thousand times worse. At least Nintendo actually made a cute Pikmin Christmas display. EA just stamped Happy Holidays over a plain advertisement for FIFA lol
