Should be discounted a little more honestly. Some of these have been out for years at this point.
$30 for DOOM and for Skyrim is highway robbery. Yes, they're portable, but that's not a good excuse for the high price.
Already picked DOOM up on the PS4. Portability and gyro controls on Switch are nice but they can't compete with the price on PS4 (only $8 when on sale).
@NintendoByNature first one was released 27 years ago, that's indeed a long time.
Still though, Mario Bros on the Game and Watch was released for 60 bucks. Those games are even older .
But Nintendo's a mad lad, true.
Doom and Skyrim both came out in Switch’s first year, so how are they not discounted further? They should both be $30 normally, and down to $10 on sale.
@IronMan30 Portability is a feature of the system, not the games.
@zemahon I know that, but that's a selling point to buy games on the system. Is it not?
Regardless, I'm not saying it excuses the price.
Breath of the Wild is still $40 as is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when they go on sale.
Skyrim runs about $20 on a typical sale for everything else.
The physcial version of Skyrim is going for higher than retail price.
Not too bad of sales, but with my recent purchasing on New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Pokemon Shield, and Super Mario Party, I think I am good on games for a while! Having a ton of fun with those!
@Friendly
Sure, compare a stand-alone device that runs the game to a copy of a game that requires a separate system to run. Sounds like apples to apples to me...
I want those Doom games, but im still holding my breath for a possible physical compilation. Wonder if it ever going to happen.
I got Skyrim over the weekend as it was £25 on the Eshop, can't see it ever getting lower that and i really want Skyrim on the go i caved and got it. Its actually a really good port and looks pretty nice even on Handheld.
@Friendly hah I meant more for the doom(2016)skyrim and wolfenstien II prices.
Doom 1/2/3 and 64 all for $9. That's unreal value.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood. They should pay us to play that crap.
Microsoft are feeling generous towards Switch owners.
@IronMan30 At least with Doom, the game is still new enough to be $30, although it's still not cheap.
Skyrim literally has no excuse, it's older than my dog
@HotGoomba___Rebrand true, I guess DOOM has a better excuse. Skyrim is beyond absurd.
Doom 2016 is $6, even Doom Eternal is $19.99 right now
But $30 for Doom 2016?
I can think of a Doom game that's not discounted here. And bloody well should be.
Why is Youngblood cheaper than New Colossus though?
@w00dm4n Skyrim is currently on sale for $15.99 on PSN for PS4. It has been on a sale on PSN for under $20 several times in the past. There is no excuse for Doom 2016, Wolfenstein 2, and Skyrim to still be $60 regular price on Switch, especially on the eshop. They should be $30 regular price before a sale.
@Retro_Player_77 It is a shorter campaign, costed less to make, and did not get good reviews like Wolfenstein 2 did.
Doom 2016 was 5 bucks a few weeks ago on ps4, just saying...
