In preparation for the launch of Immortals Fenyx Rising next month, Ubisoft has teamed up with the creators of Adventure Time for a special crossover trailer.
In the video above, we see Adventure Time's Finn and Jake getting lost outside the land of Ooo, meeting a dangerous Cerberus along the way. Fenyx soon swoops in to save the day, which is very lucky indeed.
At present, it's unclear whether this means a full, in-game crossover is on the way – could we see some Adventure Time costumes or in-game quests? – but Ubisoft has teased that "another Adventure Time surprise" is coming soon.
The game launches on Switch on 3rd December, so we're sure we won't have long to wait to find out. If you're interested, we were recently treated to more gameplay footage as well as confirmation of the game's file size.

Well that is random.
Huh, I thought that show ended...
??????????????????????? Don't hide it we all know your thinking it and Also what tourtus said, I THOUGHT THIS SHOW WAS DEAD?!
@Tourtus Well, it sort of did, but then it received a mini-series of sorts on HBO Max. Plus, this commercial isn't the first time the series collaborated after the televised finale, since there was the Brawlhalla collaboration from last year. Clearly, it's the kind of show that hasn't been forgotten by anyone, even after it "finished" its run.
Can they just make an adventure time open world games like this? That'd be a day one purchase from me!
You know, this is weird, but I'm not complaining too much.
More Adventure Time is more Adventure Time.
..... will Finn and Jake be making an appearance in the game? Cause that would be awesome!
Ugh, when did they replace Jake's voice actor John DiMaggio? Or is it just for this trailer?
Even more reason why they shouldn't have made the main character editable. They're pushing the female default and will have a surprised Pikachu face when players invariably will pick the male default 2/3rds of the time.
Just make a named character and stick to it.
@sikthvash pretty sure that is John DiMaggio, i think he just sounds a little off in this trailer.
CN and Ubisoft seem real buddy-buddy with the crossovers recently, what with this and the Adventure Time/Ben 10 reboot/Steven Universe skins in Brawlhalla...maybe licensed Cartoon Network games are in the works from Ubisoft?
See, if CN approached me about doing a cross-promotion for a game I made, I would ask for a Robot Jones crossover. Not to promote MY game mind you, but to build up enough interest to encourage CN to release Robot Jones on DVD or streaming
What is Adventure Time!?
I seriously never heard of it.
Ok that’s extremely cool. Adventure Time is one of the highlights of animated shows pretty much ever. Really looking forward to the revival, especially now that Bubbline is actually a thing instead of being hinted at.
One of my very favorite shows. And I’m not big into most of the modern cartoons with adult followings. The sweet/sad vibe, ridiculous/profound plots, and beatnik/jive dialogue combine for a singular, sublime experience. Highly recommended.
I’ve tried most of the games WayForward made based on this and they’re mediocre to bad, except for Hey Ice King, Why’d You Steal our Garbage?! That’s a decent Zelda 2 homage. I don’t love Ubisoft but I’d be down with a AA or AAA Adventure Time game from them...
@LatsaSpege One of the best shows on Cartoon Network.
Bring adventure time back
@HotGoomba___Rebrand @TheSmashTheorist @Tourtus There are specials on HBO Max. A BMO one, and next up we’re getting a Bubbline one. Google Adventure Time Distant Lands.
@readalie Oh, I forgot about this! Thanks for the reminder!
@HollowSpectre I mean, I kind of feel that's what this implies.
Alright fine I'm interested
@Parmandur I doubt it. The series has had some good games but highly doubt they would ever pour actual money into making a great one.
@MidnightLaces Pretty sure the hair is short for the same reason as most women in games (and CGI in general): because long hair is graphically intensive to render properly. Even if there is a long hairstyle in the game, it probably doesn't look good. Not to say companies haven't done it, but short hair is cheaper, so most companies will skimp out. It's all about the money, not wokeness
@SmaggTheSmug "They're pushing the female default and will have a surprised Pikachu face when players invariably will pick the male default 2/3rds of the time."
Honestly, I would argue the opposite. When games have a male/female choice, I've seen people go Female like 75% of the time. For female players, they go their own gender cause a lot of games only have male main characters so they take every chance they can get to go female while for male players, well you can probably guess why. 🤣
@readalie I heard about the BMO one but I just thought that was a spin-off or something.
@SmaggTheSmug Typically companies will pick a "canon" or default look for the avatar/self insert characters. You can play as a female Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect games but the male version of the character could be considered the canon or default as he is seen on the covers of the games and is used in the game play trailers. Same thing for the Splatoon games, you can play as a male Inkling or Octoling in the story missions but in the canon/lore of the games, agent 3, agent 4 and agent 8 are all female as depicted by the various official artworks for the games.

https://gamerant.com/baldurs-gate-3-character-most-picked-customizations/
The numbers don't add up. If you want to promote a female character apparently you have to make it the only choice. And I wouldn't mind, it has been the standard for a lot of action adventure games. If Phoenyx was always female she'd have a better chance of becoming an icon like Link or Lara Croft.
@SmaggTheSmug "If Phoenyx was always female she'd have a better chance of becoming an icon like Link"
Kinda an odd example you picked there, Link is a guy 😂
@BrandonGiesing Exactly, he's always a guy. Just like Mario is always Mario, Peach is always Peach, Samus is always Samus and Lara Croft is always Lara Croft. Now you could argue for a female Link because there's multiple reincarnations, but the fact that you can always expect Link to resemble the previous ones is a big part of his iconic status.
I think full character customization is fine for standard RPGs and MMOs, but for single player action games there are advantages to mostly locking character design. Sure, have some customization (like clothes and dyes in BotW), but make sure the character is always recognizable.
@link3710 i would disagree with you but at the same time you could be right lmao xD
unfortantly ubisoft has been already called out, exposed for being woke - so the move they've done on the female character is extremely woke. now for the hair thing...that is just not a great excuse to justify this move they've done at all since they've made plenty of titles especially coming from a huge company like them who have had females with long hair and it rendered great. could put a list of games that aren't as big as ubisoft is and made great renders of hair =3 even artist as well that aren't that popular who have made it as well - shown how easy it is to render long hair. not a big deal at all, although them being cheap is a correct thing though xD
@MisterKorman imagine being this triggered over a fact that has been already called out, and exposed from this company doing this move on females lots of times.
i mean buddy if you wanna still be in the backed up section then be my guest <3
i find it pretty dictating move to delete my comment when i didn't break any rule at all :/ all i stated was my opinion mixed in with a fact. not my problem that some people cannot handle a bit of a different side of an opinion towards these types of articles.
@MidnightLaces well, the main reason I think it's because of cheaping out is this is on Switch from the start of development. If you're going to make a game that targets running well on Switch and looks decent elsewhere, you need to cut all the corners you can.
