Following on from the successful launch of its smart Pokémon Shirts range, Original Stitch is now selling masks featuring the original 151 Pokémon.
The new site allows you to choose from all your favourite generation one Pokémon on the front side, and then one of four colours of breathable mesh fabric on the back (white, black, pink, or blue). Once you've chosen your favourite combination and size (small or medium), you can place your order with delivery expected in 5-6 weeks.
They cost $18 each with a $15 shipping charge being added for orders containing one to four masks. Delivery is available to Japan, United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
They might be a little on the pricey side, but are you tempted to grab one of these for your weekly shop? Let us know in the comments.

Me looking at the headline: I need these, I don't care how much they cost
Me looking at how much they actually cost: NEVER MIND
I was considering getting these until I saw the price. $18 per mask is a tad steep for me. Might've eventually caved for just one, but that shipping fee....
Probably won't go for any of the Kanto Pokemon.....
I'd love if they sold one with Yamask on it.
Expensive but really quite cool. Remember people, WEAR A MASK
I want a full Majora’s Mask that actually functions as a face mask.
Man, I really like that Arcanine mask, but at that price (mostly the shipping), I wouldn't be able to justify it.
@RickD How long are you wearing a mask that you think that will happen? I work directly with people so for part of my employment I have a mask on for several hours at a time, with intermittent breaks. Other than being slightly out of breath, I’ve had no ill effects.
I paid a similar price (including delivery) for a rather plain Destiny 2 mask. The Pokémon ones seem to be of a higher quality (and much more vibrant)... And I mean, who doesn't want a Squirtle on their face? Wait, that sounded so wrong.
@RickD Do you not wash it regularly?
I was heavily considering actually ordering one of these, but near the bottom of the page it states that they are “intended to be used as a fashion item” and are not “intended to prevent infectious diseases”.
So basically they’re useless as actual face masks.
If you can afford disposable surgical masks or respirators, use those, they offer better performance
Presumably, this refers to the contraction of, as opposed to transmission of infectious diseases (most domestically available masks don't protect the user - rather, surrounding people), but if it's ineffective in both instances, it would be a waste of anyone's money.
Nice, but expensive.
Finding masks that don't steam my glasses up was a struggle I don't need to go through again.
I know the Pokémon Company has been getting a lot of flack lately for its anti-consumer practices, but this honestly feels like one of the worst offenders to me. Capitalizing on the pandemic by selling overpriced masks (which, as some have pointed out, apparently might not even be that effective--no pun intended) just rubs me the wrong way. With their billions and billions in revenue, they could do the charitable thing and just... I dunno, give masks away? But nah. What's next? $30 Pikachu and Eevee hand sanitizers?
@RickD Ah, cool
Very cool! But where are the Mario masks 😷 😭?
18 dollars? It's a bit much, but I think it's worth-
Oh. $15 shipping too. Maybe not.
Welcome to the new normal. Masks are here to stay.
As good as they look (especially that Vileplume one), it's a no from me.
$18 + $15
Pack of 50 face masks (converted to dollar) is $4.11 near me, I use 2 a day and for the price I could buy 8 boxes of the ones I get (8x 50 = 400 ÷ 2 a day = 200 days)
And I would need 2 of these, that's $36+$15...
I hope that by that time I don't need them anymore because I already have issues with breathing without them.
@Collette Better start calling them “Halloween Face Coverings,” then.
Not a fan of making money off the current situation, while I understand that kids might want to have them.
clicks
And they aren't cheap... Ah don't know what I expected. But knowing myself, I'm probably getting one.
@edhe that’s probably just to avoid lawsuits. The grade of the mask should be listed on the site somewhere.
I got one for free with my Meccha Japan order a while ago. They get very damp very fast, I couldn't wear it for more than a few minutes.
@Collette That's not what I'm getting at, I'm just wondering why such a semantic difference in language bothers you.
Do not buy these, if you're going to bother with a mask make sure it is medical grade.
@Collette Aren’t they posted with a warning that says they are fashion only, not for disease prevention?
I've got a variety of shirts in the 30-50 dollar ranger that have lasted me years and years and the images on them are still clear and the shirts have survived countless days worn and been washed over and over.
Then I had shirts in the 5-15 dollar range that were basically rags after like 5 times through the wash.
But I can't tell the difference between them by looking at a picture online. I need to feel the material, the weight of the shirt and the manner in which the printing was done.
I've seen some shirts with pictures on them that look amazing, but you wash them 3 times and you just have a shirt, no picture.
I live in Sweden, nobody wears masks. Not even in school.
I like that they're making fun masks, but, if it's not a KN95 or equivalent I don't really care how cool they look.
If they’re good quality masks, I don’t mind paying more for ‘em. The most comfortable mask I own is one I got for 20 USD from a small streetwear business, and after forgetting it and wearing a scratchy, stiff mask all day, I realize how much better the more expensive one is. 15 bucks for shipping though, that’s a little much.
@Collette Of course it makes it okay. They aren't hiding the info from you. I'm not responsible for your reading comprehension when buying stuff.
@Cevil
I might be wrong, but in other countries, these kinds of fashion masks are used regularly?
@Ryan_Again
Wearing a mask isn’t facism lol.
That said, this looks pretty cool. I won’t be getting it though.
@RandomAfricanGamer Apparently NLife don’t care about anti-mask misinformation. The link the guy above has embedded goes to an extremely dodgy site that sells ‘supplements’ peddling some nonsense that goes against all medical advice. Some people still believe that vaccines cause autism though so I think the ignorance and outright stupidity of humans can never be understated.
Why are you guys saying they look cool?
Most of them suck
@nessisonett
Yikes 😬
If they'd released these WAY earlier than I probably would've gotten one despite the price, but we're so deep into this by now and I already have 2 reusable ones, so can't really justify a third at that price...
Been waiting on them to finally release the pocket squares outside of Japan since I use them to clean my glasses. Stocking up now.
@Tyranexx They also add customs on them.
I was all to get two but then compared the sizes with the masks I currently use and the Pokemon ones are too small. They need a large, as people heads aren't all small or medium
@Enso In that case...hard, hard pass. I've bought decent quality masks for cheaper than this.
@nessisonett there’s no link in my comment. The only actual link is the one between vaccines and autism. Do some research, and not just from pro-vax info. “Trust the science” is the least scientific thing you can do. Science is “question everything” and identify connections, even if someone is paid to say there is none.
@RandomAfricanGamer A mask can be an act of tyranny if it is mandatory. Every day we step outside our homes we accept risks. A free society allows us to make those choices. Maybe it’s just a mask now, but next it will be mandatory vaccinations, a health passport, and a “Trust Stamp” (look it up). Thanks for your comment, though. You’re also free to wear a mask 👍🏾
@Ryan_Again Wait you’re actually serious about the vaccine and autism thing? Dude, that was disproven years ago. You can’t get autism, you’re born with it.
@Ryan_Again
Mandatory masks, vaccines, and a health passport would be great. Our society would be a lot more aware of health risks, and things like COVID will be a distant memory.
Personally, I don’t see the problem.
@Ryan_Again
Oh, and vaccines don’t give you autism. However, joining anti-vax mom groups definitely will.
@Deku-Scrub This is really scummy, at least to release during this time period.
Reason they have to say they can’t prevent disease is because there is no proof that a non-medical grade mask that is not properly fitted prevents it. They would get sued out of existence. I’m sure this will get deleted though. I would prefer to see some vintage Nintendo masks over 2 billion different Pokémon masks though.
