Last week saw the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' latest update, taking the game to Version 1.5.0 and providing players with lots of spooky new content.
As it happens, one particularly spooky new addition wasn't meant to be included, with a new bug accidentally being introduced which causes an issue with your in-game passport. Apparently, some of the titles you can earn thanks to the Nook Miles feature haven't been appearing in passports at all, meaning players can't express their true desire to be a 'Down-and-out Egg'. And hey, don't go stealing our fantastic title!
Thankfully, Nintendo says it's on the case and is working on a fix. The company addressed the problem on social media (thanks to Nintendo Everything for the translation below):
"We are aware of a bug that was introduced in update version 1.5.0 where some of the titles acquired with Nook Miles are not appearing on passports. We are currently fixing the bug and will send out a bug fix as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience."
The update did, of course, also introduce lots of great new additions, including a neat new feature for the NookLink app on your real-life smartphone.
Are you still happily plugging away at Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Have you been enjoying the new autumn content? Tell us below.

Huh, didn't even notice this glitch after the update. Glad Nintendo is on the ball here before I was.
I don't look at my passport to know if I'm even affected by this.
-as long as my passport still says I'm "Experienced Trash" then I'm happy
The halloween update is by far the best one yet!
Haven't noticed this bug. I hope my "ancient life-form" title isn't missing. 😰
Nothing big, but something that is big is the halloween update. In my opinion, the best one yet
I'm glad that they're fixing a bug before I found out, but why is Apologies for the Inconvenience the most overused line ever?
Am I the only one who can't find a scorpion anymore?
Good, now apologise for the 'joy con drift isn't affecting anyone badly' comment while you're at it.
♫ Bugs, bugs, bugs,
You're hindering a good time
Bugs, bugs, bugs,
Patch it out for my love ♫
Aaaand they still haven't fixed the game save corruption bug which has been there since launch.
@RadioHedgeFund Yes they did. Cloud saves.
@SpaceboyScreams If the game can still be corrupted then they didn't fix it, they just put out a safety net.
I have slowly been getting back in Animal Crossing New Horizons recently after being away for a few months! The new content has been pretty nice!
@HotGoomba Being humble and apologetic is a valued trait in Japanese culture and to be expected, even. Most of my Japanese friends were so attuned to say "sorry (to bother you)" whenever they asked me a favor, I started to force them to say "thank you" in front of me instead
@Tourtus Point being it's nothing to stress out about because the odds of it happening to you are super low anyways but if it does happen you can just restore your file. So why complain?
TBH, I’ve forgotten about the passport feature. They have such little use and it’s not like you can see a visitor’s passport.
@SpaceboyScreams Because it is a known defect that should be fixed, I don't care if it's uncommon, it shouldn't happen. I'll never understand why people defend broken products. If your phone, tablet or computer had a known glitch that deleted your files and the creators of it didn't fix it would you defend that? Sure you can back up your files every week or day but do you really want that in your routine?
@Tourtus If it happened to 1 in 10,000 people I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it, especially if the problem is technically "fixed" with online backups. Everyone should be backing up their game anyways because anything could happen with or without a known bug. I get where you're coming from but it's such a non-issue at this point that I don't realistically see why anyone should be complaining at this point.
