@ozwally I don't think it does but back then, the characters on cover art did often take inspiration from movies afaik and have seen.

Holy shirtballs. Played Turrican 1 and 2 on the Commodore 64 and they remain my all-time fave games. Manfred Trenz did amazing things on that system. Can't understand why this kind of Eurostyle action platformer never really caught on. Been playing Gunlord X on the Switch, which is a fantastic Turrican sequel in all but the name, and now THIS... Aaaahh! Awesome.

There are so so many older SNES and N64 franchises that are prime for a reboot or sequel its unreal. This being one of those franchises.

I've never really played that much Turrican, but I enjoyed Gunlord X quite a bit, so definitely consider me interested.

I have Turrican 1, 2 and 3 on Amiga, Turrican 2 on PC and Super Turrican 1 and 2 on SNES and Wii Virtual Console and I've played them all to death! This is absolutely fantastic! Turrican 2 on Amiga is my personal all-time favorite game. Number one. I'm wondering what exactly will be revealed tomorrow? I'll take anything!

@Turrican my personal hope is that the new game is accompanied by all the old games. With a game like this I hope that’s possible. That’s the dream. I assume it’s a new game and strictly love old games so packaging it all together would be dope: super dope.

@Stocksy How about a new "Turrican 4: Rise of the Machines" (Chris Hülsbeck already made a soundtrack for that ) together with a "Turrican All-Stars"? All Turricans for all 8- and 16-bit platforms in one package for Nintendo Switch? That would be so great! One can dream...

Would love it, but knowing Limited Run, it will be a new cartridge for the SNES, so only made for collectors.

@Turrican thanks for the follow up info. Good to see Super Turrican Director's Cut getting a wider release. I didn't know there was or could be a Mega Turrican Director's Cut. That might be interesting, especially if it has a lot of changes. That second anthology has a lot of Turrican 3 on it.

Already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition! Haven't ever heard of that Mega Turrican Director's Cut and what are those "Score Attack" versions of ST1 and MT? Looking forward to the whole package!

Shame it is on two cartridges and not have the C64 versions (as thats the ones I played as a kid), but couldnt help myself.

Both Super Turrican 1 and 2 come built in to the Super NT, they’re ok I guess.

Pre-ordered the standard editions and the vinyl boxset...it was expensive, but I got the feeling I might hate myself later on if I don't get it now.

Great to see the games getting some renewed interest, but personally I feel splitting the pack into 2 is taking the piss a bit. If they'd all been on one then I could see myself picking up a copy. I'll just wait for the eshop sale price instead, or just carry on emulating.

I never played these games back in the day, but I sure appreciate the skill that went in to creating them.

So expensive and no justification to break games this size into two collection. Should be one collection. The limited run industry is toxic.

@Stocksy Totally agree. If all of the games were on the one cart for $34.95 (plus the not inconsiderable shipping costs to the UK) I would buy it. I will just have to wait for the digital versions to get a significant discount instead.

Spreading the best games across two editions is a cheap trick to force sales, couple that with the fact that Strictly limited games are an absolutely horrendous publisher and I'll be giving this a wide birth.

Given how small the file sizes of these games are there is no real justification for releasing them in two separate volumes. Look at how many games there were on the single Sega Mega Drive Collection.

I'm quite disappointed. That means at least $30 for each physical release, which is beyond insanity.

There's not enough content in each pack to justify a separate release.

Collection 2 may be a particularly bad value. Turrican 3 and Mega Turrican are pretty much the same game, on different platforms. I'm not aware of the details of a Mega Turrican Director's Cut, but if it's not much different, or adds a stage or two, it's still going to be mostly the same. You'd have three versions of Mega Turrican/Turrican 3, then Super Turrican 2 as the only other full game in the set.

This is fantastic for me. Yes a little expensive but such great memories of playing Turrican 1 and 2 on both my c64 and then on my Amiga. Turrican 2 on the Amiga is possibility still my favourite game ever (sorry Zelda botw). Sadly my amiga 1200 doesn't work any more. Gutted the c64 versions are not included. I have played the snes and megadrive versions as I own the vc versions. They are good but not quite as good as the Amiga versions. Collection 1 a download must. A sale on collection 2. Just need Super frog and the Alien Breed games now.

Definitely interested in this...at some point. They're making the same mistake here as those Darius collections. When they come down off that ridiculous asking price, I'll be waiting.

So basically 40 bucks for different versions of the same game. Then another 40 for different versions of the sequal.
Not really worth it for either. We will see what they do for the digital version. Will it be single versions or a pack like this. That would be worth it for no more than 15 bucks at the most.

Feels a bit like what LRG did with the two Blaster Master Zero games. They need to be on separate carts because...?

@robr It's Sony policy that a physical release must have an accompanying digital release, and it would be common sense to put them on eShop too.

The pricing really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. When you think that the Contra collection comes with 7 games spanning 5 platforms for $20 , then this is just absurd. I get that Contra is more popular and the numbers may have to be a bit different, but this is well outside what I think is acceptable.

For a collection containing Turrican 1 & 2 (C64 and Amiga versions) , T3 for Amiga and MD and the 2 SNES Turrican games, I would have happily forked over $40 which is still twice as much as the Contra collection.

Since I love the series so much I’ll probably still pick up the first collection, but yeah... way to sour what should have been a great reveal.

I know Turrican, played it back in the days, but it was not my favourite.

For one reason my avatar is Turrican: I love Turrican.The first game in the series convinced me that the Amiga was a great machine. Yet, I love my hard-earned money more. In no way am I going to spend $75 to play the games on switch.

Ranger X on the Mega Drive Genesis was way cooler and deeper. You had a bike and a floating ship with unlockables skills in free roam 2D stages.

Did these even ever release? As far as I can tell, they got cancelled or something.. I have the Flashback collection and it's great, but the absence of Super Turrican 2 blows..
