Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf, a game which fuses turn-based strategy and card game elements, is set to launch on Switch in the new year, it has been confirmed.
The game is said to feature "an epic story campaign, unique PvE game modes, wide character customisation system, and a tremendous amount of weapons and equipment". The Switch version will come with all previously released DLC as standard and also boasts a whole new local co-op experience to enjoy.
Here's the game's official eShop description:
Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is a turn-based tactical strategy in which you have to take command of the Space Wolves and join the battle against the wicked servants of Chaos and the sinister Necrons.
Game features:
- An epic story campaign, a unique survival mode
- A system for levelling and tuning the squad
- Different classes of armour and a huge number of weapons
- All previously released DLC.
It'll be available on 23rd January 2020 for $17.99 / £16.19 if you're interested, directly from the Switch eShop. The game has received mixed user reviews since launching on Steam in 2017.

Hmm, time to see what the steam reviews are.
Edit: Wait a minute, this is a Switch Port of a PC port of a Mobile game! The game has been on android since 2015!
It looks like the PC version removed some of the micro transactions from the mobile version, but then made it more grindy in exchange to get the cards you want.
The complaints can be assumed up as:
1) Enemies appear without rhyme or reason so you have to grind levels and memorize them. Sometimes, enemies just spawn in randomly, even behind you, and can get off attacks before you can react.
2) You have to grind to get better cards. The place you grind at apparently does not let you use your deck so it's even less fun
3) The game is difficult since it originally was for mobile and they wanted you to buy cards
uninspiring meh
Mixed reviews on Steam. Not great, not terrible. One significant positive, imo, is that there isn't a "Switch Tax" that I can see. Assuming "includes all previously-released DLC" means what I think it does this would be the equivalent of Steam's "Deluxe Edition" which goes for $42 right now.
About time the heresy of no WH40K games on Switch to end.
50 quid says it's absolutely dreadnoughtful. i have always been a big fan of White Dwarf and warhammer but they haven't made a single good game yet. They are all utter rubbish.
@Shiryu I hear you, I don't think this is a game most people will enjoy though.
This is not the WH40K game we've been waiting for on the Switch.
Played this on iOS, it was alright. You use cards to decide what to do on your turn, so your collection and deck building come into play. It’s not terrible by any means, but never really hooked me in like Warhammer Quest or Space Hulk.
@Kalmaro As expected from a bunch of HERETICS!
It’s actually not that bad. A nice little diversion and some good tactical elements. But yeah, it’s not a perfect game - by far. Still, if it goes physical, I’ll lay my hands on it.
@Maelwolf Yeah, Space Hulk is much better!
@Kalmaro Thanks for this. I was considering it before reading your comment. I love the 40k license and Switch is the best platform for turn based strategy games, this should be a no brainer.
@PorllM Just trying to get the facts out there. It has mixed reviews so done people do like it, I just started doing a little digging since Warhammer is a beloved franchise and one gabbing mixed reviews seemed alarming.
FOR THE ALL FATHER!
(As a Space Wolf fanboy, I am duty bound to buy this I'm afraid.)
They desperately need to establish some sort of control over the video game licensing of Games Workshop's properties. There are a few good ones but most are average at best.
A F2P Mobile game from 2014.
Just try it for free on iOS and Android. Not going to care about the extra "free DLC" once you do. Lasted about 2 days on my iPhone.
I know this is closer to the original experience, but I think Space Marine port with the dlc is a much better idea. One of the only action shooters I played online tbh and it was great witht the dreadnought content.
Sounds like a wait for a 75 percent-90 percent off kinda game to me
I'm getting too loyal for this.
