Launching on Nintendo Switch next month is Space Pioneer, a twin-stick run-and-gun title from QubicGames and Vivid Games.
This one has you travelling to various planets to discover ancient secrets; you'll be taking on enemies and bosses like cybernetic arachnids and venomous hornets - each of which come with their own unique offensive and defensive capabilities - and choosing from multiple weapons and skills along the way. You'll also be able to unlock new gear and upgrades, as detailed below.
Game Features:
- Tight and responsive run and gun gameplay
- Multiple galaxies to exterminate through
- Big ass boss battles
- Rewarding progress system – continually upgrade your weapons, gear + skills
- 3 class types to choose from - Light, Heavy and Standard
- Local co-op up to 4 players
The game launches on 6th December and is available to pre-order from the eShop as we speak for $9.99. If you already own any other QubicGames title on your account, you'll automatically receive 50% off that price.

Not gonna lie. This looks pretty fun. Loving the art style too.
Looks like a cross between "APEOUT" and "HELLDIVERS" both which I like! Nice!
Published by Qubic, so wait a couple of months and it will be discounted to 90% off.
@Scollurio that's exactly my first impression, major cartoony Helldiver's feel.
Might give it a go for $5.
Art style is very cool, character reminds me of Body harvest.
I would be interested in this if you weren't earning stars in a linear sequence of levels like some kind of free-to-play mobile game from 2010.
Important question - does this game save like a normal game, or when I turn it off to go have dinner do I have to start over from the beginning next time? B/c I purchased No Reload Heroes, played it up to about level 9, first big boss level, beat that w/ my 2 sons, then turned the game off to go cook diner and next time we booted it up it was back at the beginning, no save, checkpoint, nothing, so we've never ever played it again, nor will we. Which is too bad, b/c it was a really fun game. But games need save points. If they want me to start over when I die, fine, but can't keep playing a game for hours on end, I need to eat occasionally.
Reminds me of Alien Syndrome on the Wii. An average game that I enjoyed way too much.
@aznable Pretty sure this is a mobile F2P port, that's why it plays like one, lol.
@Palico_extremeru I really think Helldivers would STILL be a great fit on the system too. I played it ad nauseum on my PS4 and later on my PC in glorious 4K - which was surprisingly taxing! lol
Still, Helldivers is pure awesomeness.
Yes! Helldiver's was my fav vita game. It would run like a dream on switch
Oops sorry for the crude language. I know NL is family friendly
