Last weekend, Yacht Club Games officially confirmed the existence of the Golden Shovel Knight amiibo. Rumours of such a thing had been spreading for quite some time in certain corners of the internet, but now it's really here, and it looks marvellous.
Pre-orders for the figure have now started to appear online. The prices seen below are the recommended retail prices, so we can't imagine it ever being any cheaper than this, and we also don't imagine that stock will last particularly long so make sure to get on these while you can.

The figure is sporting the Ornate Plate design found in-game, and scanning one of these beauties into your game will allow you to access all of the same modes as the original Shovel Knight amiibo:

Oh, I just love Amiibo! They look so good to display, and they have in-game uses. It is like buying Monster Hunter Statues! (I have a Kecha-Wacha in my bedroom).

I pre-ordered in store at GameStop when it first went live — and everyone thought it was a NA exclusive to that retailer.

All Amiibos have a metal cover so it won't work sitting inside the box.
@Gs69 No it won't : ( Confirmed by Yacht Club.
@SwitchForce That's quite uncalled for; they're just asking a question. Yes all amiibos have a metal cover that blocks the NFC reader, but Yacht Club produced the original Shovel Knight amiibo themselves and didn't include that cover on purpose. So yeah the original amiibo could indeed be scanned through the box.
@SwitchForce the original reads through the box I have it I know it works it’s a legitimate question for people who like to keep them boxed.

The detail in this gold version is much better than the others from nintendo. Different shades of gold and the shine is very attractive.
