Was it a leak, when you could preorder it from gstop and Best Buy (since yesterday)?

Guess it’s to make shovel knight available as an amiibo along with the others... I don’t think the original is still in stores, right?

I'm going to get it. Missed out on Piranha Plant (looks at extortionate eBay prices and immediately clutches hand in regret) and I don't want to make the same mistake again, especially not with this one.

Looks fantastic, but since it gives the same unlocks as the regular Shovel Knight amiibo (which I already have), I think I'm gonna pass on it. I may end up regretting it though.

Are amiibo even still used in games? What's the purpose of them? Collectibles?

Pre-ordered it but I doubt I will be buying any more amiibos, then again I said this years ago with the Wii U. I am honestly not even sure about it, but who knows because I realized how the original one is going for over $40 on Amazon right now.

@BensonUii yes I figured that would be the reason for this release. The original came out a long time ago now.

Interestingly, it seems they cannot sell these without the foil thingy that prevents people from scanning them without opening the package anymore.

I never took my original Shovel Knight out of the package because that one doesn’t have that.

I understand that people like Shovel Knight, but how is it getting all these amiibos? It now has more amiibos than a lot of Nintendo franchises. It's not even as if it's a franchise that's exclusive to Nintendo consoles. I don't really get it.

@TheAwesomeBowser There's one listed on Amazon AU currently for $33, which is a $10 markup of retail but I guess isn't too crazy. Is a Japanese one apparently so the box won't match local if thats important to you.
