Psyonix's ongoing support for Rocket League continues, with the developer announcing the 12th season is now officially live. Here's some information about what players can expect:
Competitive Season 11 Rewards (new Boost) and the beginning of Competitive Season 12 are now available. Plus, new quality of life adjustments such as an all-new audio mix that utilizes High-Dynamic Range (HDR) Audio and new “High Five” and “Low Five” stats are all live now.
Season 12 also adds Rocket Pass 4. This pass features a new rally-inspired battle-car known as the Mudcat. Here's a bit more about how to unlock it:
As was the case in previous Rocket Passes, you'll unlock Mudcat as soon as you purchase Rocket Pass Premium and begin your journey to unlocking the Mudcat GXT and access to Pro Tiers. Take a look at this rugged ride and some of the other featured items in the Rocket Pass 4 trailer below!
The weekly challenges in Rocket Pass 4 are also different. New challenges won't expire after a week, so you won't have to rush to complete them. Here are the finer details:
Just like in Rocket Pass 3, both the Free and Premium tracks will get three new challenges each week. Weekly Challenges help you climb your Tiers even faster with Tier Points. Each Weekly Challenge is worth three, five, or eight Tier Points. Rocket Pass 4 features 70 Tiers, but getting to Tier 70 is only the beginning. Pro Tiers grant Painted or Special Edition versions of select Rocket Pass 4 items, all of which are tradable.
You can unlock Rocket Pass Premium with 10 keys, or get ahead of the competition with a premium bundle for 20 keys. This premium bundle comes with an additional 12 Tiers.

It pains me to see all these "Battle Passes" in great games like Rocket League.
I really liked rocket league for 70+ hours, but the negativity in communication with people sarcastically spamming "what a save", or "great shot" killed the experience and I've never gone back. It's unfortunate.

Noooo!
@Dahn_
was it you hitting "what a save" when I play? Oh you rascal!
@Dahn_ Calculated
@Woomy_NNYes You know you can mute the opposite team's chat in settings, right?
@SquashyCat Nice shot!
@WaffleKnight it is completely optional and only cosmetic items.
The only downside I see if that there are too damn many items now, so much so that having a rare or cool item doesn't feel so special anymore
Rocket League is my third favorite game of all time.
No, I don't like some of the comments, nor do I like the random loot boxes.
But the design of the actual game play is sublime. The size of the arena, the speed of the cars, the bounce of the ball: it all fits together to make an exciting experience. I think the fact that so many people are still playing it says it best.
These passes are pretty much full of garbage really, the only good thing that's in them are the cars.
@The_Mysteron
Do you play with your own team muted?
Yeah, I know I can mute my team and the other team. I always keep the other team muted. I quit playing because I got tired of negativity on my own team. If I mute my team, then the game gets more frustrating when too many people go for the ball at kickoff, or other instances like an "i got it" can be helpful for covering the field.
-then I got Splatoon 2, which became my favorite game, and I made my dumb username (I'm fine with my username, just messing around)

@Alaninho
Hah! I see what you did there
-funny
@Woomy_NNYes Sorry, I thought you meant the other team were sarcastically saying "What A Save!" not your own team mates. That would be really annoying. I find that stuff very self defeating. I've been 4 goals down and managed to claw back a win with just a bit of encouragement between our team in the chat. When Rocket League is evenly matched it can be one of the best games ever. Unfortunately all online games communities can be ruined by toxic behaviour. I always report people who abuse the chat.
