Nintendo has shared a list of the top 30 best-selling games on the Nintendo eShop for June 2019. Plenty of the obvious big names and recent releases are there, but we also have a few slightly older indie favourites still performing nicely.
Nintendo says that the ranking is "based on Nintendo eShop unit sales", which includes games of all prices (even if they're free to download) but discounts demos.
So, without further ado, here's the full list:
1. Fortnite
2. NBA 2K19
3. Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda
4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Mmm. Reminds me, I really must take another shot at stardew. By rights I should love it but...couldn’t click into it.
Anyway, games, yay!
But but all nintendo players buy are exclusives...../s
Free games shouldn't be on the list. Everyone is gonna download any remotely popular free game just to try it. I can't stand Fortnite at this point, just bores the crap out of me. But even I downloaded it, because why not? It was free.
My point is, it distorts the list.
@KIRO Stardew Valley is an extremely slow burning game, so it doesn't seem like there's much to hook you at first. But it's the kind of game that unravels more and more features over a stupidly long time (like 100 hours+ not even joking).
@Heavyarms55 I agree with you, but on the flipside, there are many other free-to-download games on the eShop, yet Fortnite is the only one on this list. Warframe, Paladins, Brawlhalla etc. missed the cut. Fortnite may not be #1 just because it's free.
Been meaning to play Stardew someday. It's been on my wishlist forever. I just can never seem to pull the trigger for some reason. Maybe I'm subconsciously afraid of getting absorbed into it...
There are quite a few quality titles on that list! Makes me happy to be a gamer in this day and age. Playing Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has brought me back to the good old days.
@Heavyarms55 I agree, maybe they even deserve their own list top free to play. Granted NBA2K19 is only so high because they did the deep discount, I would have never picked up that game normally, but that discount was enough for even me to bite for a basketball game on the switch.
Outside Nintendo, just mostly budget games.
Funny NBA is up there - I was told nintendo base was too smart to buy games "full of microtransactions" 🙃
@Heavyarms55 Nice new look. 😉
it is sad and depressing that Fortnite is number 1
NBA was $2.99 last month so that makes sense.
@Agramonte
There are gullible Switch owners too, especially when the game in question went on sale for $3.
Fortnite will always be in first place xD
Hmmm no mortal kombat
I'm happy to see that exclusives don't monopolize the list like on 3DS/Wii U. Successful 3rd parties means more quality games for us.
Also, freemium games shouldn't be included on a "best-selling" list
@westman98 I am sure there were tons of so called innovative Indies at dirt cheap prices also.
Or, they just realized (like on every other platform) that you can play local with family, online with friends or a single player full season with your favorite team on the toilet. And NEVER buy a single microtransaction.
If some other gamer wants to spend $500 on in-game digital crap, nothing to so with them.
@Agramonte
There aren't exactly a lot of $3 indie games that are good or even decent.
And of course no game "forces" you to buy any microtransactions. They simply "encourage" you to do it by making you choose between unnecessarily lengthy grinding and gambl...I mean paying.
@westman98 well we talking about "gullible" so if good or even decent is irrelevant.
Again, Nothing you wrote has anything to do with the guy playing the celtics calendar game on the bus to boston. Or rebuilding favorite team in MyLeague. QP at home with fam, online with friends.
