Indie developer and publisher QubicGames is rapidly approaching the one million sales mark for software on Nintendo Switch. Celebrating both this and its 15th anniversary on the market, the studio has heavily discounted a number of its games on the eShop and teased several more which are on the way.
You can see all the deals for your specific region by searching for 'Qubic' on the Switch's eShop. Expect to find the likes of Robonauts, One Strike, Coffee Crisis, Escape Doodland, Super Hero Fight Club: Reloaded and many more at 80% off or more.
The video above shows off the four new games QubicGames has on the way for Switch. We've spoken about some of these before, but we have a full rundown of each for you below:
Akane
Akane is a brutal arena arcade slasher based on one-hit-one-kill gameplay mechanics, where the player has just one goal: to kill as many opponents as they can, before they die. To achieve this goal, players will have a diversified arsenal of weapons and special skills at their disposal to help them face different types of opponents along the way.
Blazing Beaks
Use your one-of-a-kind bird skills to whack every nasty thing in your way, so it returns whence it came. Explore tons of randomly generated levels bursting with secrets, and unravel the mysteries you chance upon. You’ll hear the sweet voice of powerful artifacts calling your name, but beware of their dark force. Think twice before picking them up, as they will prey on your greed, leading eventually to your annihilation.Hungry Baby: Party Treats
Hungry Baby: Party Treats is a funny and innovative multiplayer game that can be played by up to four players. Gather your friends together on the couch and let the gameplay unravel to decide which of you is the fastest and… the sweetest! Check out the unforgettable Party Mode or try the campaign and discover just how finger-licking good Hungry Baby: Party Treats really is!Warlocks 2: God Slayers
Warlocks 2: God Slayers is an action-packed, humorous RPG, where you take charge of mighty Warlocks and hack’n’slash the arrogant gods that dare to stand in your way. Challenge them alone or with up to four friends in local or online co-op. Encounter all kinds of hilarious pixel art characters on your journey but don’t be fooled: these wacky creatures will be free to use any means necessary, including their special skillsets, to take you down. With the aid of giant bosses, they will put your skills to the test. Slay or get slain. There’s no other way.
Will you be joining the celebrations by picking up a couple of the studio's games today? The discounts take most of them down to below £1 each!

No... Just no ok just no.
Never played their games, so I won't knock on their quality. But aren't these games on sale every single week? That's probably why they reached 1 million.
I might be interested in Blazing Beaks so I bought Not Not when it was really cheap just so I could get 50% off on Blazing Beaks if I do decide to buy it. Aside from that I don't think I'm really interested in any of the others.
Akane is absolutely amazing, please look forward to it.
I bought Coffee Crisis for $1.99
I'll pick up Warlocks if it's $1, could be fun with my son's.
We got No Reload Heroes last month and we had great fun for a couple of hours, for awhile me and my son, then later the other joined in. We got past the boss at level 6 but couldn't find any way to save it. The first few levels were too uninteresting to replay if we can't save it later.
@Shiryu thanks for the tip, I’m sure it’ll be a steal at $2.49
It is a sound business strategy. Release many low budget, o.k. games that are fun for an afternoon or so. Sell them for a couple of quids each. Everyone wins.
I got robonauts because it was on sale.
It was worth the sale price. And having it made one strike cost all of fifty cents.
One strike was definitely worth that.
And having the both if them made Not Not cheap.
Which was also worth it.
They’re not great games, but they are all worth it as long as you’re paying the low sale prices they offer. Robonauts would probably be worth full cost if it did 4 player.
I'll certainly take a look later. I love me a good sale lol
One Strike is fun...feels like an Arcade Classic
@adh56 let me know how it is if you can. Been eyeing it for a while
Mana Spark is a fun game. If you like dungeon crawlers, take a look at it. It's roguelike, but it's good and cheap
Akane has me scratching my chin a bit. I’m on the fence. But if One Strike is $.50 (and it is) that would make Akane $2.50. So 3 bucks sounds like safe bet. Where if both games suck, it’s a shoulder shrug.
@NintendoByNature I played a quick game of Coffee Crisis and it feels pretty good, if you like beat’em ups it’s an easy recommend for $1.99. Didn’t seem to have continues like the arcade ports Switch has been getting but there is a password system to start back at the level you made it to. I’m most likely going to hold off playing anymore till I can play it co-op with my brother.
As far as beat’em ups on Switch go, both Wulverblade and the Capcom collection are must haves imo
I love to get a deal on just about anything, so I'll give them a look and buy the ones that seem fun to me. Thanks for the info.
Discounts are always welcome!!!
I'm sure this sale will come to NA. If so, might be time to scoop Coffee Crisis finally.
cheap n cheerful as the brits say
Already have:
1. Robonauts
2. One Strike
Going to get:
1. Coffee Crisis
maybe No Reload Heroes
I know QubicGames from the WiiWare days (I enjoyed their arena battler GNÖMZ and the turbo-runner 2 FAST 4 GNOMZ even more). Silly titles, but the first one was good multiplayer fun and the second was like 80 levels of non-stop blitz reaction that worked for me just as good as BIT.TRIP RUNNER. I wonder why they don't release more of these.
I haven't tried one of their Switch games yet (apart from the Robonauts demo that I didn't like), but Akane and Utopia 9 look neat.. might look into some of their other games (Escape Doodland and Mana Sparks) as well.
@bluesdance A bit like Aldi chocolate digestives. Yum.
Are there reviews for any of these discounted games? Otherwise its just picking something out of the bargain bin for the sake of it surely?
One Strike can be a fun fighting game if you play with the correct group of friends.
No reload heroes is a decent enough budget dual-stick shooter - multiplayer is good, but single player is a bit lacking
One Strike is like a simplified (budget), pixel version of Bushido Blade and is pretty good fun
Super Hero Fight Club is another decent/budget one screen brawler - again the multiplayer is pretty good, but the single player is lacking
Apparently Not Not is a pretty good "one more time" infuriating
reaction/puzzle game and was reviewed by IGC here: https://indiegamerchick.com/2019/04/20/not-not-a-brain-buster/
To be fair all of their games are aimed at (and seem to excel at) the budget/pocket money market and it's hard to fault them - none of them seem to be 'bad' and they're reasonably priced!
I've pre-ordered Akane (because it's a bargain at that price) and I might pick up Mana Spark & Blazing Beaks when it drops
Gave me an excuse to finally give Coffee Crisis a whirl.
Game is whack. I’ll stick to my morning cup of Mother Russia Bleeds. Thankfully, I picked up cholera. Wait, that can’t be right...
Ahhh, Koloro. So far, Koloro is a prety good poor man’s Celeste. It’s got autorun (ala a runner), but, thankfully, that part doesn’t ruin it. I’m enjoying it.
Speaking of autorun, I also finally gave Escape Doodleland a chance. I dunno about this one.
Oooo, and that means Akane was $2.50 which I solely bought because of the Jungle soundtrack.
I've had my eye on Blazing Beaks on Steam for some time now while it's in Early Access - I hope it can be as good as Nuclear Throne, but progress on the game has been quite slow it seems. I'm surprised it's being announced for Switch at this stage.
Akane reminds me of Hyper Light Drifter, but the fact that it's an arena fight-till-you-die game kinda puts me off.
Warlocks 2 looks interesting though, if the combat mechanics are even half as good as Dead Cells then I'm in.
