In February, the talented team at Motion Twin revealed Dead Cells: Rise of the Giant, a substantial new DLC update for last year's Dead Cells. This content is entirely free and has been available on the PC since the end of March.
More than a month later, Motion Twin has now confirmed this extra content will become available to Switch players on 23rd May. You'll be able to enjoy a new biome, boss, 10 new enemy types, 10 weapons, three new skills, unlockable skins, a new story ending and a hidden area. The video game store near me has a physical version of this game but I haven't had the funds to pick it up 😞. It looks like something I would really like as well, considering I put more than 80 hours into 'Enter the Gungeon'. Hopefully, no one will get it before I get the chance!
It's unbelievable that they are doing this DLC for free. I would have easily dropped some coins for it. Bravo Motion Twin.
I was hoping to finish the original content before this came out. Made it to The hand two times and other things competed for my attention. Oh well.

It took me sooo long to beat this game. Not sure I can bring myself to jump back in.
Awesome, one of my favourite Switch games. This will bring me back to it once I’ve chipped away at my backlog (ETA 2022 to mange that at this rate!)
Although I appreciate the design and fluidity of the game, I just don't feel like going through the first couple of levels again and again. I guess that just the nature of roguelike, but apart from Darkest Dungeon I've never really got to grips with it. Ah well.

The post they made on the switch news app mentioned that they are already working on the patch to this patch I really hopes that’d for minor things instead of fixing performance problems like want happened last time.
it's nice that their adding stuff but i don't think it really changes anything, you handle every enemy the same way just rush them down and dodgeroll
I haven't even come close to beating the original game yet, but I love that they are bringing this as free DLC. Big fan of Dead Cells and the studio, and this looks like more awesomeness.

When I finally beat the game (which I enjoyed immensely) and got the extra mode, I thought, "Awesome, maybe this will provide a more relaxed mode to go through the game." Then I found out it actually makes it harder. That was the last time I played. This might bring me back.
Love this game and need to get back to it, had not gotten all the way through yet, about 3/4 through is best i've done on a run with about 15-20 hours played.
This kinda helps with my backlog blues, as now i'm glad to get to play it for the first time with this DLC.

I couldn’t find any new levels, but after previously only beating King Handyman or whatever one time, the current state of the game allows me to cheese out on a tactics build like nobody’s business. Of course, with 100% ++drops and the new-ish custom mode on lock, I still get my but whupped in One boss cell mode.
Also ran, where’d all of the slowdown go?
Edit: oh, there it is. Also ran, I’m about to enter guardians haven. Should I be scared?
