Upcoming roguelike RPG adventure Vambrace: Cold Soul is scheduled to launch on consoles in Q3 this year, with a Steam release coming slightly earlier at the end of this month. To celebrate, Headup Games has released a brand new story trailer.
The video sets the scene nicely, so we'd urge you to give it a watch if you love your games to have a compelling narrative, but we also have a summary for you below.
The King of Shades has cursed the great city of Icenaire. Now cast under a permanent blight of frost fall, its former residents have returned from the dead as mad Wraiths. Survivors take refuge deep underground where they lead a desperate campaign against this unearthly power. Woefully outmatched, they are forced into hiding as the King of Shades amasses an army of the undead above them. One fateful day, a mysterious stranger appears in the city with an enchanted vambrace. Now, she may be their only hope…
The game is said to place you inside an "epic fantasy adventure" where you'll need to assemble a party to battle, craft items, and make crucial decisions which will seal your party's fate. We expect to learn more about this one in the coming months, but we do know that poor decisions will result in permadeath for your comrades. Ooooh.
We recently compiled a lovely gallery of screenshots, which you can check out for yourself right here.
What do you think? One to keep an eye on?

Really interested in this. I like permadeath as a mechanic when handled well.
Is that Jennifer Hale? Sounds like her.
I've been looking for a ice/snowy game. I'm keeping my eye on this awesome cold vibe.
After playing Darkest Dungeon, which is admittedly a very well made title, I realized that I absolutely (curse word adverb) hate this kind of game.
Game trailers with no Gameplay are just useless. It would be the same if a movie trailer consisted solely of a few sentences read by a deep radio voice.
Coldest Dungeon
@MattFox That is why it is a Story trailer and not a Gameplay trailer.
Eh roguelike is not my style of rpg. Just can't enjoy procedural generation.
