Last month, we found out Level-5's video game and television series The Snack World was a little bit closer to a western release when the localisation company 3Beep revealed it was working with the Japanese developer and publisher on English translations.
In the latest development, a rating has now appeared on the Australian Classification Board. This mature rating is for Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold, which is seemingly the English title for The Snack World: Trejarers Gold – an enhanced version of the original 3DS role-playing game released on Nintendo Switch in 2017. Take a look below:
If you haven't heard about this series before, here's a description and game trailer:
SNACK WORLD is a nutty place where mythology, fairy tales, and technology are fusion fare! When an evil mogul wrongs the young hero Chup, the boy and his bite-sized crew embark on an epic adventure of serving just deserts to the giant jerk.
Have you been waiting for this game to be localised? Do you like the look of the trailer? Tell us in the comments.

Oooh it looks a little bit like Fantasy Life, so maybe it'll be great.
@ReaderRagfish Everything is the opposite in Australia! The age rating system, the way that the water flushes in toilets, that fact that a ride on a boat based on a James Cameron film with high tech effects can fail.
Before anyone @s me that I’m wrong about the toilet thing please note that this comment is a joke and not everything in Australia is the opposite of how it is in the states and in other European nations. Please note that only 98% of Australian wildlife and plants can kill you compared to other exaggerated figures that float around the internet.
Been a long time but glad this is finally getting localised. It looks like fun.
@ReaderRagfish Yeah, M isn't that bad, it has no age restriction. MA is 15+ and R is 18+.
It’s a really fun game although a bit repetitive since most quests are really similar to each other.
Anyway, if you have seen the show and like it you’re in for a treat.
So, it will be rated Teen for Suggestive themes, Sexual themes for Purple genies. 😆
I hope this means it's getting a release this year. It looks like my kind of game.
fantasy life (3ds) x ever oasis (3ds) vibes right here
@Sheriff I agree, yeah I’ve been waiting for this since a couple years back when they announced it for 3ds. Thankfully a Switch version is gonna be released here in NA. I truly do think it will be a niche type game but with the Switch having a fairly large install base I won’t be surprised to see it do fairly well. Keeping my eyes on this for sure!
FINALLY! This little game is going to be a gold mine and I'm going to love every second of it when I get my hands on it. I've checked out japanese gameplay of it and it looks very engaging! Especially the boss battles and the multiplayer! Now that's what I like to see in my games!
I really want this!
@maruse I think the variety is supposed to come from the weapons/people in your party? Most RPG's tend to have quests that aren't too different from one another so I can't see it being too much of an issue here.
@ThatNyteDaez It’s not really an issue but everything is basically the same repeated over and over again. But like I said, for me and for kind of game it is, is not really a problem.
There are tons of different enemies, weapons and gear. Crafting your “fashion items” and following the trend of the day is a big deal. The bosses are really cool and the story is bonkers, just like the anime (which I really like).
Resuming: even with the repetitiveness, I like the game quite a bit.
This looks good. I want.
All we need now is a release date. Been waiting so long to play this one.
Been waiting on this game to bad the 3DS vrs never came over. Glad to have it in any form.
@sevex exactly my thoughts. A new Fantasy Life remains my Level-5 dream project on Switch.
Okay this has to be fake. There is no way SNACK WORLD of all things is an M game. You mean to tell me they think this game is just as intense/naughty as such things as Doom, Senran Kagura, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, and Gears of War? Man get that out of here, lol.
