Langrisser

Chara-Ani has launched a brand new countdown website for the Langrisser series, teasing an upcoming reveal 15 days from now.

For anyone unfamiliar with the name, Langrisser is a tactical role-playing series developed by Masaya Games, which first appeared on the Mega Drive in 1991. Several releases have appeared since then, mostly on Mega Drive and Sega Saturn in the '90s, although Nintendo fans did get a taste of the action in 2015 when Langrisser Re:Incarnation Tensei arrived on Nintendo 3DS.

The new site suggests that something new will be shared on 23rd August, and if this accompanying trailer below is anything to go by, it certainly looks like we're about to get a brand new game. As you can see, the video cycles through games in the series, clearly hinting that 2018 is set to be the year for a new star. Famitsu has reportedly listed this new, mysterious title under "consoles", hopefully giving some weight to a possible release on Switch.

A mobile game has also very recently been released across Asia, with rumours suggesting a western version could well be on the cards soon, although this new announcement doesn't seem to be linked to the smartphone title. All signs here are pointing towards something new, so we'll have to keep an eye out when that fateful date comes around.
